70mm Termi system from 1098 on an 848?

  1. Hi,

as per the title really! There's a full termignoni 70mm exhaust system (incl ECU) from a 1098 on eBay (and on here). My question is will it all bolt on to a 09 848, or are the systems different?

    thanks, Ben.

  2. No the systems and ecu are different.

  3. Thanks, thought it was too good to be true!

  4. oor just buy an exhaust and get your ecu set up on a dyno. Then youll know its right rather than a generic could be near enough jobbie....

  5. I'd seen that other on eBay, thanks. The other was cheaper (till the bidding gets going) so I thought I'd check.

You reckon that's a good price for a 2nd hand system? Seems pretty good to me. Also, did you fit a system to your 848 and if so was it worth it?!

  6. Tempting....

  7. Yep, I've got the full system. It made the bike rev mores freely, and run a bit better at lower speeds and transformed the sound. Plus the pipe work looks better than the standard stuff. I'd offer that guy £650 and see what he says. Tbh I'd snap it up at the asking price, really he could be asking another £200 on top of that.

  8. Yep!! get that 'buy it now' button pressed! it'll not be on for long. It's a good price and comes with the ECU too, which a lot of sellers sell separately.

  9. It's gone! Asked the seller a question and before he answered someone had bought it. Oh well, will wait till the next opportunity!

  10. was it Nelson......................................

  12. ooooooh!!! he who hesitates.....

  13. Who dares is skint...

  14. Well done Nelson. We aren't friends now (although my wife probably thinks your amazing)! I hope the ECU is the right one (my question)!

Seriously congrats. Having only bought my bike yesterday it would have been right in the dog house!!

  15. Thought the base 848 and 1098 systems are the same, the ECU is different. Evo and 1198 are different as revised ports on the heads? sure that's right, I.e Evo system does not fit non Evo 848 and 1198 system does not fit 1098... I thought. Or at least the twenty or so Ive polished were....as in looked the same but never had them side by side.

  16. I've fitted a non evo to an evo before, no probs.
    I've fitted a std 848 system to a 1098 before no probs.

    Hope it fits my build/re-build.

ecu is defo different. evo to none evo.

I have a spare 848 non-evo ecu for full system if anyone wants one...[IMG]

  17. Ok, I know lambda sensor layout is different not that anyone runs them... and spring layout is revised for late shape cans... anyways... next time people may know ;)

  18. I thought the headers were different too?

  19. I thought the headers were different, I KNOW the ports were revised but looks like Nelson knows for sure... I.e they are all the same, did think they were as many have fitted 70mm systems to 848's.. I have the full 60+mm system (that measures close to 70mm) for the 848. 70mm is overkill for the 848 IMO.
