got round to replacing the rear brake pads and fluid on the Multi this afternoon. did the fronts earlier in the week ... had to wait to purchase a 1025 ft-lb electric impact wrench to remove the damned rear wheel nut. the trick to flushing bleeding the rear brakes is to remove the caliper and position it on top of the rotor, so that the bleed valve is positioned above the piston. that way, ALL the air bubbles can be bled out.
What fluid did you use? I read that using one with a high boiling point really helps, think it's a Castrol one. I got my first MTS (1200s) today, back brake is shocking so looks like something I will have to do!
Motul 660 is the better compromise between cost and overall effectiveness. I go further than @john clelland, and put the caliper above the ABS unit and bleed. A little more involved but IMO, well worth the trouble. Oh yes, Brembo SR pads. Andy
I must be very lucky indeed as I have no complaints with my rear unit, maybe I will buy a lottery ticket!
I used to position the caliper above the ABS central unit ... but I have found no difference in that method over the one I documented above. As long as the caliper is inverted so the bleeder nipple is above the caliper piston, all should be good.
