  1. Neil’s got a point though. If Hunter Biden had been the Donald’s son, MSM would have gone hysterical. But they haven’t. They’re very guarded about him. So much for a right wing MSM

But I know, before you go off on a link-athon, it cuts both ways. Sometimes….

  2. Yeah, the right in the UK doesn't have a voice.....apart from the Mail and Mail online, the Sun, the Telegraph, the Express, the Times, Sky (Murdoch owned until recently), LBC, Nigel Farage, millions of social media accounts, the Govt, Laurence Effing Fox and now GB News, which from what I've seen comes across as a room full of golf club bores "setting the world to rights" or reading out the Daily Express comments section.

Perhaps 20 years ago such views were absent from the political mainstream and and there was a genuine grievance but now those views are the mainstream, put another record on FFS as it comes across as spoiled and kind of silly

You were named in a UNESCO report for the misogynistic attack you directed at me. It mainstreamed abuse that continues to this day. You never retracted. You never apologised.

Disgraceful treatment of @BBCNewsnight Nick Watt. A fine reporter and good friend. Subjected to the intimidation and thuggery of the mob. Simply terrible. Solidarity with Nick. twitter.com/geoallison/sta…

  4. Ah, is this where Andrew Neil, the journalist whose channel's entire business model is to whip up the right wing mob with hysterical rage-bait is now wringing his hands in faux concern by condemning a hysterical rage-fuelled right wing mob for harassing a journalist?

The politicians seeking to distract from their corruption and incompetence and the media outlets chasing clicks and hits by stoking this culture war need to be very careful, because it's only a matter of time before there's another Jo Cox murder or something akin to the Capitol Riots kicks off.

  5. talking for ourselves here but most folks have the measure of AN. they know what he is, and respected journalist aint one of them. he has been making documentries since the seventies telling us how worthless oil is. Quoting GERS while not explaining the methodology behind it, he's been caught and repremanded for presenting tory press releases as facts while genneraly making a fool of himself on twitter arguing with unknowns who later reveal themselves as leading experts in their fields. he is a quisling and a fraud.

  8. I thought he was talking about GB News as it’s basically a massive grievance-peddling clickbait engine

  9. Ah, I have yet to try GB News and feel no need to.

    Thank goodness!

  10. especialy if you looking for ideas on what to buy seeing as advertisers are pulling out here there and everywhere.

  11. Never heard of GB News so went had a look. This was very amusing BBC on companies pulling ads...seems three companies have: Ikea (see below for that), Octopus Energy (who?! Oh the 'we are cheaper' energy co who are either selling under wholesale to attract customer volumes to sell business to big co for huge profit or finding energy from their arses...) and Kopperberg: that famously sweet alcopop sold to and consumed by many a teenager.

Ikea said it had not knowingly booked slots on GB News, saying it was not in line with its "humanistic values".

Andrew Neil, GB News' chairman, issued his own response to the decision.
"Ikea has decided to boycott GB News because of our alleged values," he wrote on Twitter.
"Here are Ikea's values - a French CEO who is a criminal with a two year suspended jail sentence for spying on staff."

The company's French arm was fined €1m (£860,000) this week after it was found guilty of using private detectives and police officers to collect staff's private data.

Jean-Louis Baillot, Ikea France's former CEO, was given a two-year suspended jail term and a €50,000 (£43,000) fine. His lawyer said he was considering an appeal.

  12. To be fair to IKEA Andrew Neil is only upset with them because they’re insisting he returns the stuffing he nicked from their cushions and glued to his head.

  13. I remember when he had it done and for 3m on tv it looked like Sewing Bee had taken place on his head.

  14. I am with Octopus after they took over Co-op Energy. They are are OK. I left on a sandwich toaster the night before my crash. I was on 24/7 for about 6 months and I racked up a bill of thousands! I still owe quite a bit! Octopus have been OK about it and have not hassled me (too much) so when I get back to normal, I'll probably stick with them.[/QUOTE]
