Loaded up Pani to visit mate who lives up the ‘north’ 4hours later & 2 fuel/wee stops I’ve arrived Manchester-ville.
Gave the Multistrada a wash and blow dry ready for a service tomorrow and time on the dyno to sort the fuelling on Tuesday. The rest of the day was reserved for beer, MotoGP, BSB, lamb moussaka and more beer Andy
Dropped the Multistrada off at MR having undone all my efforts to get the bike clean yesterday. 10 miles of that wetting, fine, misty rain covered the bike in sh*t before getting a dry road. Bloody gear indicator switch played up, 70mph in 6th and the dash is trying to make its mind up if I’m in first, neutral or second and the engine momentarily being killed at each display change. Only lasted about 5 miles before clearing but that’s getting changed before it packs up totally. Also discovered the Ohlins forks need shimming although that will have to be done another time. Have been given a Scrambler 1100 for the next 3 days. Got home and have parked it in the garage, it’s not going anywhere until it’s time to return to collect the Multistrada. What an unbelievably awful ride, Carole’s 803 Icon has more character and sense of fun in comparison. Andy
Received delivery of my new Nolan N87 helmet and Packtalk Bold..........went to Sportsbikeshop in Leeds to get them to fit it for me. And just as well I did as I'd have been still messing about with it I'm now trying to get to grips with how it works and so far I am finding the voice activation hit and miss for some things like answering the phone. And apparently SWMBO is not impressed with me walking around with my helmet on and barking out instructions for her to call me on the mobile every other minute Anyway my neighbour Dan has also fitted his Palktalk Slim today so he's coming round in a bit and we are going to try and get them to talk to each other. That'll be fun no doubt
Thanks Sam, just looked those places up, on the list now. I plan on renting a bike for a few days here and there. No plans made at all, might pop over to Ireland if the pubs are open. Thanks again
Called in to Stockport Lamborghini. For sale, one owner Our Ducaaaati’s looking on with a nonchalant air.
Well it seems that you have to say “hey Cardo” then the command, for some commands, but for phone or Google maps you have to say “Google” then the command. I’ve also managed to update the firmware I think, and my neighbour Dan has been round and we’ve managed to pair our units (that bit was a doddle). So tomorrow afternoon we are going out to test them properly
Went with mate to SMD tyres at Leigh. He had a new 200/55 fitted to his Tricolore. Tyre fitter did @Mary Hinge bike wrap. It’s a small world!
Earning dinner money today with 12mm plyboard replacement on a garage side section, i've need to pop back tomorrow with some wood filler for the screw holes etc.
Top Tip: if your significant other comes up with a great idea of buying a 120yr old door she’s found on FB (that you now have to collect), then suggests taking said door, which is about as square as a peach, cutting it in half and hanging it on barn door runners to a wall of a house that’s not much squarer than the peach. JUST SAY NO! (and disable her FB and Pinterest accounts) Just the simple matter of routing a runner groove in the bottom of the doors, glazing it, door handles and painting it/distressing it, whatever the hell it is she has in mind
What was it about “simple matter of routing a runner groove in the bottom of the door” that passed you by ? Andy
Yeah, got these in the kit that screw to the floor and just that simple matter of routing a straight groove in a warped door. Good excuse to purchase more powertools though
