Recently was bidding on a car on eBay which had been relisted and when I started looking at the bidding on both occasions 2 bidders ran it all the way up putting high bids in straightaway , I know it’s worth what it’s worth to you but it put me off bothering as it seemed I was being run up, bidding history below, anybody else noticed stuff being run up
Do we believe eBay??? How do I report shill bidding? If you think that another member is shill bidding, you don't need to report it to us. eBay has a number of systems in place to detect and monitor bidding patterns and practices. If we identify any malicious behaviour, we'll take steps to prevent it.
eBay don’t give a shit as long as they skim the commission. How many years have we seen those vehicle scams where people do get stitched up. Obviously the same people doing it, what do eBay do about it - Nothing other than cancel the listing, just for it to reappear again!
Had so many negative experiences on Ebay. I simply don't go there anymore. Unless it's a company with 'buy it now' And btw, I was once selling something on there and I got a stropogram from them accusing ME of shill bidding. I didn't know what the fuck they were on about. I had to look it up... Btw, anyone want to buy a carbon fibre BST swingarm for a 1098
I agree with your sentiment but it doesn't work like that. Some tit always spears in during the last 5 seconds and outbids you by a quid. It gets tedious to say the least Then same tit often backs out of his glorious 'win'
I’ve had some good selling and purchasing experiences off Facebook marketplace. Yes there is a lot of chaff on there but some good stuff too and no fees (for now). Normal rules apply of protecting your address and personal details. eBay and PayPal are out pricing themselves.
I describe ebay as bit like that old T.V programmge called "Lovejoy" back in the eighties with Ian McShane, the auctioneers working the phantom buyers in the room but in this case, friends or other internal forces.
As above, Ebay is getting to be more of a pain, i see they have now taken out the paypal element for payment to sellers, any payment now goes straight into your bank, minus their cut!...i recently sold something for £25 and actually received £21.50 - plus there will be a final value fee to pay Ebay at the end of the month, i agree that facebook market is good for selling at the mo, until they decide to introduce fees ,its only a matter of time.
fleaBay antics can be a pain but IME Gumtree is awful and, god almighty, Facebook Marketplace is even worse. At least most eBay ads have a proper description and a few decent pics whereas on FM you regularly see listings that just read “Car. Voxall gud condishun. No ofers” with no further info and a single upside down photo taken on a 90s Nokia burner phone.
Just bought some new pannier for my Mutly offa fleabay - nee complaints at all. Me thinks if you're dealing with someone who is selling at a reasonable price it seems to be OK. More of a problem when BIN is too high and they won't accept a decent offer On that note - how about a
