Installed a LiPo battery on my Turismo to ensure strong starting and had no issues with the sprag in 18,000 miles. It was a recommendation from those in the know on the MV forum. If the previous owner didn't fit one to your F3 I kept my Anti Gravity battery along with an Optimate LiPo charger if you're interested in buying one. Stronger starting and significantly lighter. I think it's the same size across the 800 range.
I may well be yes, as I’m going to need to take the tank up to fit a battery fly lead so could change it for a li-po at the same time and don’t have a charger for that. Looking at your profile are only in Cheltenham area and I’m in Swindon so could work out well
Such a shame that you had to let the V2 go but I can understand why. Love the MV's and the one you have looks ace! It will sound amazing with a full system on there. I had a Brutale 1090RR and it was amazing until it threw me off on a straight under heavy braking (I shit you not!!) and smashed into a gazillion pieces!!
Yeah, not sure on the exhaust yet, I would like to retain the triple pipes but I want something that’s perfect for the bike, so that’s the SC with the correct mapping, which will have to wait. short term, I may invest in a steering damper. But otherwise a suspension set up and some trackday insurance!
Congratulations i rented one from trackside hire at Monteblanco, what an absolute laser of a bike, all the trick bits i just had to focus on throtlle lines and braking. well done
Only messing, hope you get some reliability. Unreliable bikes, especially at TDs, are a nightmare. Fingers crossed.
That engine is a peach! I had a Brutale 800 and then the Stradale 800, preferred the riding position of the Stradale and the up/down quickshifter. If I had the space and money I’d buy a Rivale just for shits and giggles Had the QD pipe on my Brutale, quality piece of kit and at a time when big mid boxes full of tree hugging insulation had taken over it was as if MV just decided the euro spec nonsense wasn’t for them.
Picked it up today, definitely a lesson In not letting YouTube videos etc form your opinions, I was worried it would fuel much worse than the v2, and that it would feel slow with brutally hard suspension. i was really lucky with the weather and managed 60 odd miles totally dry roads. The gearbox and clutch are a little less smooth in action over the Ducati but it’s also only just done 1k miles so I’m sure it will still loosen up a touch. Overall I’m really smitten
Congrats! I went the other way, from a F3 to a 959. Mine was bought new from MY2017 or 18 (I can't remember which now, but I know I waited for the newer one with some sprag clutch revisions - although I think more followed, and fuelling improvements, which were never an issue for me). My dealer was Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds, and they were always excellent throughout. It pretty quickly had an 'engine out' recall that made me wince when I saw it all apart, but Krazy Horse handled this brilliantly, and there were no delays there. I waited 4 months for the seat cowl, and MV's own tail tidy. When I finally received the tail tidy it was not 'tidy' at all, in fact quite hideous, so switched to the Evotech one, which I should have bought in the first place. Also, the seat cowl seemed to be missing a part of its locking mechanism (there were no instructions to confirm whether or not this was the case), and would not click shut securely. The bike was undoubtedly gorgeous, and to be fair, it never actually missed a beat. It also sounded amazing (stock exhaust), and was faster down the straight at Snetterton than my 959, though I never had much luck with the blipper on down changes In the end, it was the parts supply from MV that nagged at me, because if anything did happen, I just wasn't confident parts would be available in any reasonable timeframe. It all felt just a little too 'low volume manufacturer' for my nerves. At least MV are able to clear coat the paint on their bikes at a lower price point than Ducati are able to with their 'baby' models. I got an excellent trade in price for the F3, so in the end, I'm very glad I did it, and got in and got out unscathed. Enjoy!

Yeah I’ve been watching them over the years, seems almost every year there have been little improvements, mines a euro 4 so again there were some changes to the gearbox etc, and I know the new ones again have had some revisions. I’ve financed it privately rather than Pcp and am paying it off pretty aggressively to try and protect myself from Pcp type negative equities but we will see, it may end up being frustrating, but tbh my v2 has been incredibly frustrating, it’s just felt like a Friday bike from the day I picked it up.
Hello, me too! After promising never to sell it, I had to sell my 1198 last year because covid destroyed our tourism. The business I worked for went bankrupt and I didn’t work for a year. The bike would have suffered anyway from non use because we were locked down, I couldn’t pay the insurance or the repairs it needed (new brakes discs etc , v v expensive) so it had to go. This spring when we opened up for tourism I found another job, better paid actually and went to my Ducati dealer to look at used bikes immediately. He has a big warehouse and gave me the key and said look around I’m too busy. So I was looking around and right in the back I saw what I thought was a second gen F4 in a half opened wooden box, just one side panel of the box was gone. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked, maybe especially more beautiful because it was surrounded by used KTMs. When I was closer I saw it was a brand new F3 675. To make it short, it was a late 2019 model unsold, unregistered, discontinued now because it can’t pass euro 5. The dealer gave me such a low price because nobody wanted it, I couldn’t believe how cheap and I said yes, thinking how bad can it be? I live in a very twisty road place there are literally no straights. I am now up to 1,900km passed on the F3 and I love it so much. It is so well built and so much better for where I live than the 1198. I had to learn to ride from zero with their engine because there is not any torque after the 1198, the real power starts at 9,000 and it revs to 15,000. Now I’m used to revving it so much and carrying more corner speed it is just as fast here in the real world as my friends on V4 Panigale, Aprilia 1100 etc. After running in, I have an HP Corse high level homologated exhaust and Dunlop GP Race 212 and with these two things it is absolutely amazing. Also some suspension adjustments were needed, bit harder rear and bit softer front, now I am completely in love with it. The sound, the look, the handling, the crazy little engine, blipper up and down, the build quality there is nothing I would change really. It was the only supersport with a contra rotating engine the technology is levels ahead. When they were first released ten years ago they had a lot of problems with the engine and also mapping, the ride by wire, but by the end they had fixed everything. I also put the Agostini number 1 on it, now so many old guys wave at me! You will love it when it’s run in, put the Dunlop’s and an exhaust you will be so happy like me I promise.
Look great AmalfiCoast Same with my Turismo, it was a love affair. The build quality and attention to detail in virtually every component pandered to my OCD nature. I also had a HP Corse exhaust on mine, the Hydro Tre. The only one that really worked with the bike in terms of aesthetic and also was suitably fruity without being obnoxiously loud.
Lovely bikes, local to me is Brutale 800 RR for sale. Gorgeous thing, I might even be tempted after seeing this thread.
Thanks for this. So HP Corse are worth a look then? Any remap required? I love the triple pipes on the stock bike, but it is really quiet, even compared to the Euro5 Panigale that was a lot louder
