So what have you done today..?

  1. Fighting with the Stag’s head all day trying to remove it. One stud removed, 3 snapped and one stuck fast. This means the studs have corroded to the head. I have a 10 ton ram on it at the moment trying to force the head off. I’ll leave this on over night. Grrrr

  3. On the fourth day, some parts of my body were numb beyond aching. It was like my crotch was no longer there. Not aching. Just... gone. My knees were very sore too. I am on the tall side of the house. Like 185 cm (6’3”). 4-5 hours is perfectly fine, but 7 hours for several days in a row takes a big toll.

Yesterday I finally decided to go the safe way, as far as electrics go. Alternator and regulator connectors were just a mishap waiting to happen.

Additionally, the OEM style battery was really not up to the task, when it came to wake the D4 up. Always that hesitation at launch. Typically funny in front of the house. A lot more stressful 400 miles away from home. So I went lithium + Mosfet + straight connections allowing big amps.

Very happy now. Nearing 60.000km and the bike looks like new. Next are the belts and valve lash adjustment. Life is good! :D

  10. Wasted another day trying to chase my 8 day CoVid test. Returned from France sent off 2 day test, negative result back. Sent off 8 day test. No response. Eventually got through to Testing For All. Test in lab being processed. Now isolated 15 days, expected to be cleared at 10 days.No result. Told to dial test and trace by Testing For All. They Can not release from isolation without negative test result. Testing for all offered me a £22 refund against the £99 cost of testing. UKAS registered so opened case against them. Informed QUality care Commision, opened case with them. Still no result, calls not answered, email replies stating busy due to demand. No update on Testing for all lab status. I found this company as a result of positive feed back on Which website.Which informed.
Stuck in cannot use NHS for testing as it is travel related. I now need to order a PCR test with another private provider! And wait until that clears. Do not use this company, I wouldn't wish this crap on anyone coming back to the UK. Other than being locked up not a bad day.

  11. Yeah, I saw that on an other forum and it does the job perfectly. Allows to work on the swing arm and rear shock very easily. I prefer this to lifting under the oil pan. Feels more stable/safe to me.

  18. Had a walk to Rutland water this morning and this afternoon and evening we're at the Battle Proms at Burghley House near Stamford.
We've just been treated to an air show by the Red Devils and a 1944 Spitfire, doing barrel rolls and loop the loop:)

  19. I remember while working on jaguar v12 engines some time back, that a very thin cutter (bit like a hole saw) was available that you put over the studs and rotated, cutting out the corrosion between the stud and the head.
    Nothing like that still around?
