Hi, really fancy an 1100 sport, (2018 model) love the looks, watched all the videos and read all the reviews, but now need to see one in the flesh, had a quick search and nothing local to Nottingham. would like to hear anyone’s thoughts that has had one passed the honeymoon period anyone Nottingham area that wouldn’t mind me coming over to have a look? anyone looking to sell? thanks in advance for any comments received, right suns out so off for a ride!
I had one. Hated it very quickly and sold it with 300 ish miles on the clock. The dealer I part ex'd with noticed the front cylinder was noisy and the engine had to have some work done under warranty. (Known fault evidently). The dealer sold the bike and the engine expired soon after. The dealer was still negotiating with Ducati last time I spoke to them. Mine was a 2018 bought new from Ducati Nottingham.
My girlfriend's 803 Icon has more character and is more fun to ride. I had the 1100 as a loaner whilst my Multistrada got serviced and I was deeply disappointed, very deeply disappointed. It got put away in my garage when I got home and there it stayed for the 3 days my bike was away. Andy
@Nozzer66 - I have one as well as my V2 and I love it. Since I put the full Termi system on it it absolutely transformed it both from a handling and performance POV. It’s the bike I go to first as it’s so easy to ride and so much fun! It’s an 18 plate (April 2018) with approximately 8k on the clock. It was MOT’d in April. Just had its big desmo valve service. However I’m looking to change it in September……..for another one. What’s your budget? I’ve been offered £10k in p/x.
I've had my 803cc Scrambler Classic since it was new in 2015 and have no plans to sell it. They're great bikes, try and get a test ride on an 1100 and an 803 and see what you think. The range is quite wide, from the Desert Sled to the Cafe Racer via basic Icon models and various Sport models. If you want more range, torque and mod-cons then the 1100 is going to be more your bag. The 803 is mega fun though. If I could get a Club Italia I'd have an 1100 tomorrow!
Always wondered how different they are to the Monster, a mate is looking at getting one, I've not ridden one but i had a Monster years ago. He is quite short legged so that's an important factor.
A dealer told me 2 weeks ago 1100’s have £1100 off at the moment, if you can find one in stock that is.
They are not discounting but giving £1000 towards any merchandise such as clothing/apparel/exhaust systems etc. Which in real terms will cost Ducati £3-400 no doubt.
Just gave back my 1100 Black model - base - not Sport had 6000 miles - hardly used last 18 months.. Nice bike - easy to ride - Final PCP payment was £6500 approx - offered me £5700 PX on a New Multistrada last November.... So if they are offering you 10K - that's Strong money.. the dealer had a new one base model for sale at £9000.... said they could not shift them (not Sport) - tough he had a Sport Model in Showroom - now seems just the Dark Pro M&P Cardiff -
The dealer rang Ducati while I was there and confirmed it was £1100 off a new 1100 but had to be in stock, they didn’t have a Sport Pro but they honoured the discount for a new order, plus 20% off all accessories. I’m still considering after a test ride. Great bike...
I got 8k for mine part ex 2 years ago. Ducati Nottingham offered me 7.5k in part ex and wouldn't budge. My multistrada is a lot more bike for the money.
The 1100 is quite tall. The new Monster however, has a factory lowering kit, comprising shorter springs front and rear and a lowered seat that’s £300 ish. Drops the seat height to 775mm and it has the SuperSport 937 engine. Andy
