Track bike insurance.

  1. Not talking about the usual track day cover, but what do you chaps do to cover those bikes you have stashed away just for track days?

    Cheers

  2. I discussed it with Carol Nash and had my 748sp track bike on my ST4s bike policy. I listed all the parts and photographed the bike for the underwriter to review and it ended up costing me about an extra £200 and covered the bike for damage and theft whilst it was in my garage and damage whilst I was towing the bike. Car insurer very nearly cancelled my cover when I told them I routinely towed £10000 worth of bikes. Have a different car insurer now but haven't mentioned I tow a 2011 Diavel and a 2012 1200s Multistrada, probably have kittens. Andy

  4. I am about to become a trailer owner and will be towing two bikes at least (Mine and a Friends bike) to and from track days. Do I need to let the insurance company know that I will be doing this, will i need additional insurance for the bikes/Car??

    How does it work??

  5. I never have. Either bike is insured, or car is insured for towing. Check your policies

  6. I was told after the event that the car insurance I had did not cover damage caused by or to a trailer or its contents. As bradders said check your policy - and expect it to be somewhere in the smallest print. Andy

  7. Nowt, zilch, nada. It's a track/racebike and therefore I have thrown the money used to buy and build down the road already.
