Whilst partly true, I would be happy to pay more tax for a bigger pension contribution, it’s what other countries do like Sweden, Norway, Denmark etc. However, I understand it’s easier budgeting for 5m people compared to 70m.
Based on what's going on in this country at this moment intime i'm the exact opposite to you on this matter.
I don't think that it has happened yet, but the day that some frail old biddy is hauled before the courts for non-payment of the TV license would be so priceless. The effect could be either the end of the BBC or the end of Boris! This could be such good viewing!!!
I've known an elderly lady for the past 20 plus years and she's refusing to pay on the day........good for her i say, less money for the t.v presenters is the wayforward in my humble opinion.
Well after the last 10 days up in Northumberland and Scotland biking today I've come down to earth. First thing this morning I had a dentist and dental hygienist's appointment.......thankfully everything is ok, at least for the next 3 months when my next appointment is made for. When I got home I cleaned all my riding gear, cleaned and ACF50'd the Scrambler and I've arranged to do another trip to Scotland at the end of September/early October, weather permitting. After that I tried to make contact with Sky TV as my contract is about to expire in the next couple of days. Well I've tried ringing several numbers and also tried to use the online chat service. Fucking useless. After buggering about for the past hour and a half I'm still no further forward in being able to talk to someone. And their website is structured in such a way that finding out anything meaningful is almost impossible, though I did find out that they intend to up my next monthly bill from £59pm to £73pm with no explanation whatsoever. According to their website the best time to contact them now is around 7.30pm when the lines should be quieter.
My sky subscription went up to £114 last month so I rang them to cancel and got the usual what do you watch etc patter. The best they could offer was £78 for the package I’m on so I’m cancelling the lot. I’ve been with these clowns for more than twenty years now and they are going to have to come up with something special to keep me as a customer. The lack of an email to notify you of the price increase has really boiled my piss
Yep they just increase it and the only way you find out is when you check your bank statement. I finally managed to get hold of an advisor on "chat" and I have managed, due to some deal or other that they wont tell you about until you ask, to get the same package I have now plus box sets from September for £6.50 cheaper than I'm paying now. I'd consider that a result!
Just remembered I'd not posted any pics from the Scotland trip so here you go And last but by no means least, our very own @bettes and @finm (I didn’t get a pic with @Derek as he wasn’t feeling well)
hmm. finbar the toothless. that all changes in 3weeks. and when that day comes, these cvnts better watch oot. nom nom nom. i see you made it to Tarbert. my v,most favorite seaside village.
Been down in Swansea for a mini break with Mrs and two of the kids. Had a brilliant time visiting some of my old haunts including the bar where I had my first (proper) job. Up in the Gower this morning with the horses, cows and early morning lizards. The cows took a fancy to the Mrs car and covered it in cow licks.
Trip out to Helmetcity in Kiddlington to get replacement cheek pads and skull cap for the Neotec II. Riding during all the hot weather has its drawbacks and all 3 parts of the lining have gone beyond being recovered by the washing machine. Bloody faff and a half getting the new cheek pads seated with the Sena SRL wiring getting in the way but all done now and got the vacuum out to get the dead insects from all the nooks, crannies and airways. Feels (and smells) a lot nicer. Andy
Ive just overheard a telephone conversation between SWMBO and #2 son. #2 son is having his kitchen and bathroom ripped out and replaced and the house is obviously just like a building site, which isn't good when you have two young children......................anyway IMO that's not a good enough reason to invite them to come and stay for the next 2-3 weeks whilst the work is being done is it? I thought she would have had enough of them when we were in Northumberland :/
