Can’t see the vid. I think Rossi has been magnificent. Met him in a restaurant in Jerez. He was great, very patient with people wanting selfies. Something he’s probably had to endure for 20 odd years. But come on, when he’s been punted off track or ‘wronged’ it’s nowt he hasn’t dished out himself over the years. What goes round comes round and all that…. Total ledge
I got my ass handed to me by Laverty earlier in the week Big respect for anyone who’s riding a bike, especially at those speeds. The difference between podium or nowhere is so minute at that level. I don’t get certain remarks. Does make you wonder about the frame of mind of some people. up until recently ish he was still mostly top 5, which is astonishing given his age and success. Anyway, love him or hate him. He’s clearly been a huge success, facts don’t lie. And has been at it for ages, there or thereabouts.
As expected. Some pricks simply can’t keep off the negative stuff. Clue is in the title: if someone wants to say how bad he is and what a terrible human being, let them duck off to their own thread. But they don’t have the intelligence or social grace to do it. Internet is full of them.
Plenty don’t like him. Good friend of mine detests him for no reason whatsoever really. And if I went on a Stoner appreciation thread and said I think he’s massively overrated and not a fan he’d call me out for being a prick too
Yes, I also managed it with better punctuation than your original post. I did have help. It is called an education, look it up. Maybe your carer can help you.
I'd put Pedrosa and Bayliss ahead of the likes of Roberts Jr and Hayden. Winning the championship isn't always a measure of greatness. Rossi gifted Hayden the title, so he wasn't without faults himself.
It's all water under the bridge now, but it was the Sepang 2015 round when MM was interfering with Rossi's race & title chase which put him at the back of the grid for the final round, so NO a lot different in my opinion compared to a normal battle with other riders on the day for track and race position. MM claimed his tyres came back on song for him, but we know that was bullshit at the highest level.
Ah ok, I remember that. Hadn’t Rossi accused him of some stuff just before all this? And consequently creating a powerful enemy? Can’t remember the full story but I do remember thinking at the time VR should have kept his trap shut over whatever it was…
Winning a championship is always a measure of greatness. Thats exactly what it is. Nobody gets given a championship. To finish first, first you have to finish.
“Rossi is shit” Says Dave, the window fitter, who’s biggest achievement was an E in Religious Education.....
To be fair the lad and I won a flat track endurance race Wednesday, not because Rossi is chite he just didn’t turn up that day. Let’s be honest he raced at the top level for 25years or thereabouts won multiple championships across different classes and is still the only remaining rider in MotoGP to have raced in the age of the 500cc 2 strokes. He won because he’s gifted not because he was gifted the wins, no matter how seemingly bitter you are about his accolades.
He's had a good run, shame not to win 10 but that's just how it goes. Probably stayed in a couple seasons too many imo, but he's a racer through and through and you can't just turn that off, unfortunately there are the physical and mental elements that will argue otherwise. I think his longevity in the top class does have a lot to do with his appeal and draw to the sport from a financial and marketing point, but I don't take that away from him. A lot of successful motorsport drivers and riders get criticised for their success and labelled with the old "well if he didn't have the best this or that, he wouldn't be anywhere near the top" well there may be an element of truth in that but no one gets gifted a seat in the top teams in the paddock, they proved their talent on the way there in their formative years by winning using the shittest equipment in the paddock.
Rossi the reason I watched MotoGP Go Rossi Better than the emotionless Stoner Better keep my Rossi rep helmet Sad day but he kept us entertained for a while Him and Shakey my racing heroes oh and foggy and Whitham
