Battery Powered Hedge Cutters

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Carr01, Aug 7, 2021.

  1. Thinking of adding a battery powered hedge cutter to the arsenal of gardening equipment.
I’ve already got a long reach two stroke one which is fine for the taller sections but not so good with vertical close up work.
There’s plenty to choose from, but I need experience
Can anyone recommend a quality option?
    Cheers.

  2. Have you searched Amazon reviews? Always a good place to start :)

  3. Yeah I’ve done a fair bit of research but often first hand experience is all telling.

  4. Any experience with this sort of thing @XH558

I know you’re in to your gardening.

  5. As I already have brushless DeWalt hand tools, I bought their cordless hedge trimmer to match the batteries I have. Does the job very well, as you’d expect from DeWalt. Andy

  6. Where is he when you need him
Chuck him back in the bin :)

  7. When you have made up your mind I have a few jobs here you can try out on

  8. Brushless is the way to go.

Do you use a battery back pack?
They seem to be an option with some models.

  9. The sort of work i do in the garden needs the two stroke heavy duty kit, so unfortunately not but we might all end up using electrical devices in the future.

  12. I have 5.0Ah batteries which have more than enough charge for the 20 or so feet of privet hedge I share with my neighbour. Andy
