I have an oil leak from the oil pressure sensor switch on the back of my Superlight engine . Bit of research and there are apparently much cheaper alternatives to the one Ducati want £25 for. So does anyone know which VW Polo one fits ? ( year /engine size )
so neutral switch then? i'm no help with sourcing/alternatives - there are two versions, earth return (1 wire) or isolated switch (2 wires) I think.
Maybe I've been lucky but on both of my bikes the neutral switches work perfectly and don't leak oil, the only problem I ever had was that the wires came off one of them but I soldered them back and been fine since. No idea whether a different switch would fit but they look pretty specific to me.
Back to the original question, if it was the oil pressure switch, there are alternatives but if it's the neutral indicator switch, I'd try to get the correct part from a dealer if I were you. If it doesn't fit properly it can foul the selector drum in the gearbox. Speaking from experience
Replacement switched ordered from Moto Rapido yesterday and arrived this morning , that's proper service . It doesn't look too complicated to fit but it is a Ducati so you never know what'll happen in the process .
Its easy to fit. If you're lucky it'll go in and be right from the start. You may need to adjust the operation by using different thickness shims to get the neutral light working properly.
