I was involved in a 3 (Lancia) car pile-up when a lot younger, 4 altogether, the middle car needed a broom as a result, and he jumped out of the car smiling 'cos he knew it was a right result..
Still going for a spin at speed in a safer environment than the open road and a day spent with fellow lovers of Lancia’s, whether you drive or not.
Anyone here have Alfine 8 speed hub knowledge. Got wheel back from menders and dropped back in my Ridgeback but the cable guide on the hub won't run parallel to chain stay; therefore stopping gear cable to be fitted! The axle has flat sides and tabbed spacers and the hub pulley/guide assembly locks to the side of hub. So you can't rotate the cable guide very much to line up with stay. Tried online search but no joy
Pleasant pedal tonight. Back end felt funny at one point so stopped to check it out. Sealant was bubbling out the side of the tyre. Flipped the bike over to put some extra air in and realised all my water had poured out over the road. Then went to pick my gloves up and grabbed a stinging nettle. An eventful ride.
rher Went out to do traditional 10 miles but enjoyed it so much I did another 6. Best I could do with picture as road unlit, it’s the ghost of Concorde, a 40% model.
well done Gary, your average mileage this year means you've probably extended your (natural) life by several years. ^ Spent many a happy Sat/Sun there about 40 years ago, also wrote a car off at Quarry, like you do. Spent this morning on Brooklands runway, only 10.5 miles but learnt a lot.
Cheers Chris, I'm favouring the road bike at the mo, I've a crappy gym/elbow injury that won't take any sort of beating right now, hence the doubled up bar tape. Off up to the Cotswolds again tomorrow, whereas I was hoping for some time up in the hills.
Lovely, you can't beat a long cycle ride in the summer can you? I was just saying to Jez, i'm missing that this year but hopefully next year. "re: elbow, it's good that it hasn't beat you - I am the same with current neck.
20 miles around the block to Crawley via the back lanes. Saw at least 5 other cyclists coming the other way…not one of them acknowledged my “afternoon…” I reckon it was because my Oakleys were inside my helmet straps…
