Took the W650 on a 240 mile round trip up to Laggan, just off the A9 near Dalwhinnie, and then on as far up the old military Corrieyairack Pass road as I could get. At one time you could get right across to just south of Loch Ness - about 25 miles - but too many 4x4s were wrecking the unsurfaced part so the local council closed it about half way. It is always the same - the idiots spoil it for everyone! This morning I actually half considered taking the Supersport! I am glad I didn't though, it would not have been much fun. I am now fairly well sold on the W650 and it even returned about 80 miles to the gallon - yes, you did read that correctly (I was taking it fairly easy for most of the time right enough). Suspect the Supersport will now be used for the occasional very spirited blast now and again rather than longer distance trips.
Had the scrambler picked up at lunchtime to be taken to Ducati Manchester to have a replacement front spindle nut fitted. I got a lift in the van so I could ride it home when it’d been done Met a couple of friends (unplanned) who I’m going to Wales with next weekend, whilst I was there so we had a chat and a coffee over the plans Replacing the spindle nut took all of 5 mins and cost £8.51, which was a pleasant surprise. I came home the long way in a spirited fashion
And the Serie oro are now on. Looking forward to experiencing the differences, also gone with Brembo pads . The mechanic told me the discs that came off were not OE. Strange as I purchased the bike from a Ducati dealer , managers bike 5 months old and only 1500 miles done. The replacements still warped anyway .
Booked in for a Biketrac fitting next week and managed to sneak in a quick lesson after work before a weekend of on-call
Washed the bike, it’s having a new front tyre in the morning, hoping for no issues because Me, my brother and my mate are off to Spain on the bikes on Thursday.
I would have Ronaldo over Harry Kane any day. Ronaldo is much faster, fitter, better, although Ron is 36, I bet most mid 20s can’t keep up with him. Although I’m an Arsenal supporter I am delighted Ron is back, a true touch of class. He will also probably score a hatrick against us too!
Did a bit of ironing this morning. Started the sorting and packing for next weekend. And since midday I’ve been lounging on the patio in the sunshine and 24C heat
Had the bikes out. Well, to wash anyway…. Fitted the new digital aerial to 911 and stored the trim out and routed the wiring nicely out the way, along with cam power plus microphone. All ready for a run out tomorrow morning. I know you shouldn’t, but I started the panigale and let it run with a few revs go good measure. Then squeezed another 18 in. Another nice mid-80’s and a net 64.
