Just washed the S2r as she was looking a bit neglected and fixed the rear indicator that had stopped working - fearing the worst it was just a bullet connector had fallen apart for some random reason, so an easy fix
Just had the front spindle nut on the Scrambler replaced by Ducati Manchester. Took 5 mins and cost £8.51 which I consider a result
Remounted the fairings on the 848 after a new set of boots, new oil & filters and a general deep clean. Adjusted the clutch on CN2's KX65. Fixed the bogging problem on CN1's CRF125. Cleaned out the fortress of solitude prior to putting all the bikes back. Flushed away all the mud we brought back from Drumclog last w/e. Got things set for another trip out there tomorrow to get CN2 to master the dark art of clutch/throttle control.
Went for an extensive two days test ride with the 916, after setting up the injection (TPS, synchro, mixture). 800 km in two days, bike rides flawlessly, I am so proud and happy! Also, mileage has significantly improved. I averaged a nice 5,5l /100. That’s pretty cool. Also, found extraordinary new roads in Haute-Loire and Haute Ardèche. Twisties that’ll make your head spin! Only negative: tired are wasted. Need a new set.
Went climbing in the Ardeche in the early 90’s lovely place area, lots of fighter aircraft flying around all through our holiday.
Yeah, these were probably from Orange, an Air Force base not to far from there. I was stationed 8 years there. Took 4 minutes from take off to fly over Haute Ardèche.
Here it is. Tell me if it works for you as I am not used to Google Maps. https://goo.gl/maps/Ns2qGYqG266VMGHk7 The portion between St Agrève and Vals les Bains is amazing…
It also happens to be a wonderful alternate route just west of the Rhône Valley when riding in that area. There are thousands of options west and east of the Lyon/Marseille axis, which has really horrible traffic…
Header being welded, all new exhaust gaskets and springs mounted. Set the co trimmer to 4.5%.. Cleaned the wheels and fairings.
Thanks, that looks great, will add it to the list. Was meant to be in the area in a couple of weeks but trip has been postponed yet again. Always handy to have local knowledge/the experience of other riders when it comes to routes.
Attempted and failed to get the horn working on my Monster. Cleaned contacts, wiggled wires, checked switch gear…nowt. Can’t be that effing difficult, it’s just two wire after all.
You are most welcome. I have a couple really amazing segments in the southeast corner of France that I could share. Just let me know if you are interested and where I should post as this is (again) off topic but good value for the money, I understand.
