  3. Lorry driver hits bridge.

A lorry driver has died after crashing into a bridge on the M6.

The man, aged in his 60s, sadly died at the scene after the crash earlier today (Tuesday), police said.

He was driving a blue and white HGV on the northbound carriageway before hitting a railway bridge between junction 17 for Sandbach and junction 18 for Middlewich
    :(

  4. Happened to me once in a vw polo
I thought someone had thrown fireworks
    under the car, proper boom

No idea why and no problems prior to the explosion.

  5. Yep thought it a serious incident, spoke to a couple of drivers complaining about the diversion and heavy traffic, just said we might be having a better day than some poor sod. Which turned out to be very true sadly. Least I got home intact :(

  6. I don't know if WD gets under acid or floats on it? A quick google search doesn't suggest WD40 for battery acid spills but I'm not saying it doesn't work... Water is great with bicarbonate recommended.

  7. If i was there i would be hiding the last piece from you.:D

  8. I've no idea who's to blame, but if we stop sending hundreds of millions of pounds overseas, perhaps then we could fix our self inflicted problems.........oh hang on a minutes that's too damn easy and obvious.

  9. Battery acid is not really very strong, so I'd say it's like water wrt WD40 so it'll 'sink'. I'd probably fine-spray everything in the affected area with water to dilute and wash away the acid as much as possible, then WD.

  10. Not too sure about battery acid not being that strong. Battery acid leakage was a common problem on Gen I & II Monsters, owners have had huge experience with this over the years and frames damaged (mostly aesthetics).

  11. That's definitely a female motorcycle with an orgasmic kick like that.;)...............hope you get it sorted pretty damn quick.

  12. I meant that it's a dilute acid so SG is close to water - we top up with distilled water, not 100% acid. It's certainly still a very corrosive liquid!

  16. Its what the hell caused it that's bugging me. Pressed button, engine spun over, battery exploded.

On the plus side the engine turned over and over nicely with no gnashing of valves and pistons.

    Which was nice.

  17. How old is the battery? When you start the bike there’s a massive load in the battery which has caused an internal short, hence the earth shattering Kaboom. Batteries are dangerous and to think we will all be driving around with masses of battery energy in our cars soon :worried:

Glad that you are ok fella, that could have been much worse.
Fingers crossed that you got rid of all the nastiness on the bike too
