Does anybody know when the bike runs in closed loop? (RPM, throttle %) I would like to get rid of the 5K RPM gap. It is not my intention to gain HP as the bike is quick enough as it is. therefore I am wondering if a PCV would suffice or if a Rexxer remap is a must.
Watching this post with interest... I have a decat on my bike, and it hasn't solved the flat-spot (although it's better).
This is interesting. I don’t notice any 5K dip on my DVT. I did fit the modified airbox very shortly after I brought the bike.
Modified airbox you say? Would be very interested in hearing more about that - it's not something I've come across before.
I stumbled across it when searching for exhaust upgrades. Apparently Ducati accepted there was an issue with a flat spot in the Rev range of the DVT and set about rectifying the problem. Basically the airbox is opened up to allow the engine to breath a bit more. Seems a simple modification to me. I’ll try to find a link that explains a lot more. There is also a parts list to complete the modification. All the parts are available from Ducati at very small cost.
Start with this. I fitted a K&N filter at the same time. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/airbox-2017-on-2015-16-bikes.48943/
I have a 2017 which comes with the modified air box from factory, also with thanks to Norm, my cat box is now empty, no flat spot, and now seems to run even better…
Interesting, thank you. My bike is a 2017, or at least was registered in 2017, so I wonder what spec it is...
