Just trying to get my head round this Ricky, the quick release open doesn’t undo the tension on the dropouts as it won’t loosen or it does loosen and the wheel doesn’t drop out as it should with the skewer loosened?
The skewer goes through the wheel and the bushes (on either side) and threads into the frame on the other end. There are no”drop outs” - there is no slot in the frame where the wheel and spindle could be withdrawn from below, the lug is continuous with a hole in it. The far end bush is free on the skewer which allows the skewer to be unscrewed from the frame however, since the skewer is stuck in the other bush, as it is unscrewed it just splays the frame apart rather than withdrawing through the bush. In summary - fooked.
It was shared... actually a really great pizza stop in Weybridge (Cantina 41, other restaurants are available...) and we were making our way home. Me very slowly...
Another 50+ up the shire. I’m running out of superlatives and photo opportunities for this area. So, here’s a picture of my massive plums…
I’ve had one of these for ages and it’s been great for the price it even removed a seized bottom bracket with a breaker bar extension and my full weight on it. https://www.aldi.co.uk/bike-toolset...oolset&utm_campaign=OSD130921&utm_cid=DM50551
Can’t believe the thing didn’t strip it was shit or bust time but the bb tool must be decent quality.
^ beat me to it, from the pic, is the aggro and friction coming from the centre portion R? as thread looks okay-ish.
23 off road miles this morning, culminating in a brekkie butty outside a caff. Grand morning for it, damp n foggy at first but got much better...
I actually like riding mountain bikes in the dark, I've got good lights, I only get a 90 minute burn time on full beam but it's like day time in front, weird feeling though, as it's pitch black off road right behind you
