Wtf is going on there?! He been watching Joey Barton videos or what?! Pretend Spanish then French accent and cutting words out like he's a foreigner....what a tit
its remarkably funny you say that. I just caught it on eurosport and my other half remarked on his foobared accent. her words "is he trying to be like them" still pmsl now after you noticed it too bradders roflmao
Noticed it in the press conference y'day after his pole but wasn't paying much attention and figured he was tired or something. He really doesn't do himself any favours
I suppose when you're surrounded by French Italian and Spanish all week broken English becomes the norm. To be fair to him he's the best we've had in ages and I for one would rather support him than a foreigner, at times it seems most would prefer the opposite.
It took under 10 minutes at work today for one muppet to say he wouldn't have been on the podium if Lorenzo was fully fit. So how has he managed it earlier in the season if that's the case?
Met him at a cycling event, came over as a bit of a tit. Can't warm to him but can't knock his achievments so far either.
yep, I noticed his accent as well but still not as good as Sylvain Guintoli's French/Midlands accent which is hilarious.
I don't even think he knows that he's doing it. I hope somebody brings it to his attention soon, he sounded like a tool. But however bad it gets, it'll never be as cringeworthy as this classic....
A bit unfair. I just don't think he's that comfortable yet with a camera stuck in his face. Have you noticed he's always trying to be funny with that little BBC host. That's just nerves I think !................but that " I am very happy" comment was very funny !
I think it's a bit unfair for anybody who has just finished a MotoGP/ run a marathon/ ridden the Tour de France/ etc to be interviewed live on TV immediately afterwards. Some people are fluent, articulate and self-possessed, others are not but have talents in entirely different directions. And interviewing people in languages foreign to them is even more unfair. Actually I find it rather annoying, subjecting sportsmen to this.
Its all part of the game. If you are a pro, and earm money doing sport, part of your habit-forming training must be creating stress immediately after so you can auto behave how the sponsors want and in a manner the public appreciate.
yes seem it not he fluent in English language more any monsieur (everybody else manages ok lol except mark cavendish...he sounds like hes on drugs.....wait up...dont they train together and isnt cavendish that cycling bloke...no drugs there then wink)
How very British of us. Let's start knocking the guy just as he gets to a position that he has been striving for and incurring considerable personal damage to himself along the way. leave the guy alone for goodness sake! Is this a Ducati forum or The Daily Mail digital edition. Sometimes I wonder.................
his achievements speak for themselves his new found accent speaks for itself oooh this is a ducati forum.....nobody said lol "please refrain from idle banter" sorry...didnt see the sign on the way in lol
1. I don't see anyone on this site running at the front of a moto gp race. 2. They are asked to slow down the response to questions so that foreigners can at least try to understand what he is saying, as I don't believe he is bi-lingual, it is a little like an English man abroad attempting to be understood. Consequently he sounds a little odd, but probably no different to 95% of the british population attempting to be understood by people for whom English is not a first language
