  4. £17,000! a bit steep. Padgets had brand new RD250LC's a few years back for £2650

  5. Agreed, that's silly money. From memory the Padgetts LC's were £5k?

  6. that's nice, you had me googling that!

  7. Agree, I think he's dreaming or smoking something.

Only paid 5K for my F1 with only 800 original miles on the clock, still got the dealer stickers on it, and original tax disc from 85-86.

  8. Sold a 31k ypvs original (featured in Rodger Taylors book on LC's) with 12,000 6 years ago for 2k since then they have gone mental. Had a TDR 250 that I blew up in 500 miles :)

  9. My 1967 Ducati Cadet. Now in the throes of being restored. Virtually no parts available, everything's as rare as very rare stuff and anybody with bits for them wants the gold of the Incas in exchange. Its a slow job.

  12. I started my biking on a 125 Yam twin YAS1 I think it was. Moved on to GT 250 Suzuki the model before the ram air had a Commando then sold that to get a250 triple. That was my last stroker apart from being given a pile of parts after a mate built a an aircooled 250 Yam from 2 bikes I spent a year putting what was left back together.it became a lovely black yam which I made a bomb on. I would love to get an H2 Kwak but they are far too expensive now

  13. suzuki_pe250_1980_03[1].jpg Loved my old PE 250, it was my daily commute for a while, basicaly it was just a four mile long wheelie !!! bloody mad as a bicycle.
(not mine in the pic but was as good as)

  18. In 1986 I got sent to Australia for 8 months.

i already had a 500 Pantah, so while I was away, I got Steve Wynne of Sports Motorcycles Racing fame to put 600 barrels and pistons on it and a Harris 2-1 zorst.

I had to have a bike in Oz, and almost bought a 900 S2, but then thought better of it, so that I could send the girlfriend the airfare. Instead I bought a KR250, as I thought I should own a 2-stroke once in my life. So I hooned around Sydney on that for a few months. I dropped it on some oil (of course) but sold it on when I left. A whacky bike: it was a tandem twin - not a parallel twin (so half a square 4) with the carbs mounted on the sides). Great fun, but so light that going over Sydney Harbour Bridge in a high wind had you using all 3 lanes.

No digi pics, but it looked like this (although this is not mine) :
