  2. That’s the ones I was interested in and asked the dealer a question via Ebay, not had any answer or response from them so not keen on doing business with someone who can’t respond to people

  4. Question, are all the 5 spoke Marchi’s magnesium, if not, how to tell the difference?

  5. Alloy wheels have only 4 holes for drive pegs on the rear. Magnesium always have 8. There are other differences but that is the only sure way I know of telling the difference. Just check that mag wheels are 17 inch as I believe there were some 16.5 about as well.

  6. The ones in the ebay link are magnesium alloy.
As said above - spoke face is smooth without the raised design feature on the aluminium alloy ones.
Plus, some have the additional webs cast into the backside of the spokes.

  8. He should respond with technical questions as it's in his interest for a sale.

  9. Well it seems someone decided to buy them out from under me tonight. They had been on for 23 days prior to tonight … and after this thread went up they have suddenly sold. Yes I should have pulled the trigger sooner but I had contacted the seller requesting some info.

Anyways hope whoever bought them enjoys them

  10. That's a real shame for you and very frustrating when folk don't get back to you,, but some people don't hesitate in life when they know what they see in the photograph.

  11. yeah they were fair game but just seems a dick move when someone has expressed interest in an item and asks questions about them and someone jumps the gun. Now I know what I’m looking for and the differences, the search continues.

    live and learn.

  12. There's always light at the end of the tunnel, Perhaps another member might read this and offer you set at a much cheaper price.

  13. I didn't buy them but to be fair you said this
The gold set for 750 look a better pair to me, at least from the pictures. Still a good price for Magnesium if that's what you are after. I sold a pair of good aluminium ones a few months back for 650 and magnesium rims in good nick are worth more in my book.

  14. It’s always possible the deal was already done and that was why they didn’t reply to you. Some sellers are amazingly slack at closing ads, despite the risk of someone else hitting BIN and then having to sort out the mess of telling a BIN ‘buyer’ the item was, in fact, no longer for sale

  15. RTG trading is where Mark @ Motostrada in Skipton (also on eBay) sells his surplus/non-std 916 parts. I’ve bought quite a bit of stuff from him and everything has always been spot on, as described and delivered promptly. His bikes are always top money but they are also what they are supposed to be. Give him a call as he always talks on the price on stuff if it’s been advertised a while.

  16. Thanks,

I had emailed twice via ebay to ask something, unfortunately I’m new to the scene so not quite fully up to spec on what fits and doesn’t across various models etc so had to ask. During that time it appears someone who knew what they were exactly and the bargain it was, jumped on them just as I should have.

Win some / lose some :)
