It was a relative ‘bargain’. Still in the shipping box,< 2/3rds retail. Owner bought it then decided he wanted an MTB.
Did one of my regular 50+ loops, but backwards (no not peddling backwards). Funny what you see going t’other way.
Little off roader this morning. The Ridgeway is part of the new(ish) King Alfred's Way circular route, which I'm hoping to do next year. ^ That’s White Horse Hill and Dragon Hill.
Got a crank over the moors this aft to finish the week off, weather crap from tonight onwards for us up here, glorious mud will return...
Come on which one of the cycling contributors in this part of the forum did this? https://www.theguardian.com/money/2...bbyists-home-as-petrol-station-on-google-maps
Heads up for the followers of cycle racing. Possibly the best one day race in the cycling calendar and it’s forecast to be ‘wet’. Possibly the toughest road cycling sportive I’ve ever completed, those cobblestones are a tough ask. https://www.cyclingnews.com/paris-roubaix/ https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/how-to-watch-paris-roubaix-2021-live-tv-and-streaming/
Women’s race today, women in Lycra wrestling in mud. Win win. https://pelotonmagazine.com/gear/the-final-paris-roubaix-of-johan-museeuw/ Museeuw crashed in a Paris Roubaix race badly, surgeons were going to amputate his leg until a surgeon recognised Museeuw and decided not to. Hincapie crashed out in 2006 as a result of a carbon fibre steerer tube snapping, those cobble secteurs are hard on bike and riders.
When I was last up the Ridgeway, this was taking place. If I'd have known I would have taken part. MAybe @Drinky did? https://www.letsdothis.com/gb/e/theridgeway-gravel-x-189597
87 miles is nothing for you and just a warm up for Drinky, looks fun might try and ride it on with my lad on our mountain bikes.
87k. Some (for me) tough terrain on the Ridgeway. Great scenery up there, plus it was a great, dry day. Maybe 2022. Quite few MTBS on it.
