just back from inversneki, no problem getting fuel. but it's the first time i've seen a £35 limit. i still stuck to the good stuff tho. (top tip, save on EGR and DPF issues, use the good stuff and forget about 6th Gear) pity there aint a shortage of Garden plants and ornaments. near 500 quid she spent. ffs. however, i fancied a rack of ribs while we were up there but where unable to get a seat in the several places we tried. normally you walk into these places, are greeted by a v,attractive and friendly mainland European. not anymore. you get a spotty wee kid telling you they are overbooked and canny cope with the quarter filled restaurant.
What do you call "the good stuff" Finm? Shell V-power diesel? Or are there other good stuff brands? (Nearest Shell is over 20 miles from me).
yip. in this case it was Shell V-power, as we rarely use the VW that is when yer gonna get issues. the panda and dobers have no DPFs, they can run on chip fat for all i care.
Cheers Finm, I will give mine (15 plate Golf 2.0 Diesel) a tank of Shell next time I am passing one. I usually fill at the local BP, but have had to resort to Morrisons lately as they seem to have less supply issues.
A vehicle particularly prone to expensive EGR issues. even out here in the sticks where cars get ragged over a decent distance most journeys. if i lived in a built-up area i wouldn't even consider a modern diesel.
Did a group ride into Wales today. Noticed, whilst in the car, on Saturday afternoon that my local Sainsburys had petrol but no diesel. Filled the bike up there this morning, no one else around but 8:30 on a Sunday morning that's no suprise. The majority of petrol stations we passed had fuel and no significant delay/queues. Looks like, around here at least, that those that panic bought are happy with their cars sitting on the drive with full tanks...
no problem filling this place with those that do. as stated, many of whome are NHS staff. i guess if the shit hits the fan again over winter, they can use your fuel. NoGutsNoGlory. chortle. . up untill the weekend folks still on furlough with plenty still working from home and not comuting. strugling to get the stuff out there. why are fuel prices rising?
Did to/fro Bristol-Brighton-Bristol over the weekend on major roads and not one fuel station without massive queues or a no-fuel sign. I'm meant to be taking 3 others to N.Devon on Friday so may have to do an early morning diesel-search run...
Still having problems with closed outlets, but i've just bumped into my mother and she says electric cars sales are through the roof....what a coincidence.
