Indeed. Wouldn’t it be funny if Overlord said ‘sod it, I have enough to live forever in absolute luxury for generations to come, let’s shut down the servers and destroy all data… And wouldn’t the world be a better place for many! Edit: how can auto spell take ‘sod’ and turn it into ‘aLt’??!!!

I couldn't load this forum for a while yesterday. No notice about 'undergoing maintenance'. But apparently Virgin was down too (though nothing like as long).
Generational Sign of the times...my daughter in law was genuinely absolutely distraught that facebook had gone down - i couldn't give a flying F@ck ,i'm not on it or any of the other platforms, and if i didn't need my mobile phone i wouldn't have one of those either...Dinosaur.
DNS issues wasn't it? I find it hard that such a large tech company took an age to resolve, at first I suspected a hack given it was all Zuckerberg's platforms, they'd have resilience globally in triplicate so for me it pointed towards that, then I started thinking I'd seen a similar issue in a previous role for a global bank... bingo! Knocked $52bn off their stock value though!
