  1. My daughter was left this in a will but we know nothing about bikes. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Welcome. Looks like a butchered Monster of some description to me. I’m sure someone will be along soon that can share some light on it as to what it is, value etc.

  3. Good Morning
The plastic seat unit is from an early Cagiva Mito 125
The engine is a belt-driven air-cooled twin from approx 1989 on, and going by sidestand attached to it, it could be an early "Monster" type, but equally it could be a short, stubby aluminium SS sidestand (and probably more likely going by swingarm).
The rear swingarm is from a similar era as axle adjustment looks similar to 1989/1990 or even later (steel-type) 900SS.

Below is a 1998-2002 type 900SS rear swingarm and you can see the similarities.

  14. If it was raced by Tony Rutter i would suggest you contact Michael Rutter as i suspect he would be interested in the bike and might be able to provide more certainty as to its origins.

Looking at the frame, it doesnt look like a Bimota frame to me but if its been raced who knows.

  15. It is.

  16. It’s itching for a bit of restoration

  17. Looking at the pic, frame is possibly a Bimota DB2 or DB3?.

  18. It may well have had restoration, I know my daughters dad loved it and talked about restoration. This is a picture of when he first bought it. We haven’t collected it yet
