1260 Air-flow Seat Cover ...

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by john clelland, Oct 8, 2021.

  1. just added these air-flow seat covers. they are supposedly very good in both rain and heat, as they keep water away from your bum, and allow cool air to flow under your bum.

the fit is pretty good on the rider's seat, but the pillion seat cover needs another velcro strap sewn on from front to back, to make the fit tight.

will take it out for a test ride today.

  2. Following! Have seen a few of these around…curious as to your findings thanks.

  3. They are called “cool covers” I have had one on my bike for almost a year, they do make the seat a bit firmer to sit on for longer periods of time, the idea is the honeycombe structure allows air to flow between you & the seat in hot weather & the rain to drain away so you are never sitting in water

  4. Do they do anything for grip or help the slide towards the tank (and nut squash)?

  5. Pretty much guaranteed when you're sitting on it squishing it between you and the seat, it will do neither of these

  6. you are incorrect ...
i test rode with the air-flow seat covers on down to Carmel and back (a 250 mile loop), and there is a lot of air-flow when riding.

  7. i felt more firmly planet while riding; braking, accelerating ... yet also allowed easy side to side movement when cornering.

  8. FWIW, i found and purchased these off Amazon ...

  10. i am liking this seat cover. the daytime ambient temps have been between 65ºF and 92ºF the past few weeks here in Northern California, depending on if i am riding on the coast, or inland... and the air-flow design is allowing air to pass between the seat and my posterior, which makes riding in the heat pleasant. have not had a chance to experience riding in the rain /wet yet. so, for riding in the heat, i recommend this air-flow cover.

  11. Thanks for rubbing it in! Northern California indeed! I am in deepest, darkest Wales where we know when summer comes because the rain gets slightly warmer! We are more likely to be sitting in a puddle over here than wishing we had more cool air wafting past our over-heated butts! Anyway, thanks for the update, I have heard good things about these seat covers.

  12. if it softens the sting a wee bit, i'm originally from Vancouver, BC, Canada ... where the summer only last for about an hour and a half one day in July ... otherwise, it's raining and slightly chilly ;-)

  13. Hope you didn't pay more than a tenner. I got one off ebay which is every bit as good as the 'Cool covers' ones (which some of my mates have).

  14. Proper fitted ones or generic?

  15. Generic, but it's exactly the same material as far as anybody who owns them can tell. Had to fit it myself, admittedly, but it was easy - and I can reuse it if I change bikes.
