Those cobbles are super harsh, on a good day you can overtake cars on it. Pick your lines carefully. Men’s race today….
I'm planning a couple of multi-day off road excursions next year, so probably time I looked at some sort of nav device. Any recommendations? Wahoo seem popular...Hella expensive!
I’ve only ever used a Garmin seemed OK, used it in my car whilst we traveled to the Alps and on the return to take in a little of the tour. Worked great but you should try to remember it’s set to no tolls as it will save you a trip through Luxembourg to get into Northern France when you want to watch a stage of Le Tour.
I’M using four computers, Garmin 1030 is the class leader without a shadow of doubt, 830 basically the same unit but smaller screen and body. I’ve had Garmin for years but the interface between unit and pc has not improved at all often glitchy, temperamental and frustrating. Wahoo is cheaper not as refined as the Garmin but unlike Garmin is app based, far better interface, routes transferred effortlessly unlike the Garmins. I must say though value for money try the Bryton Rider 750, the whole bundle can be had sub £250, app based and after owning one for over 3 months I’ve had no problem at all with it other than the frustrating issue of it defaulting the units to KMH and mtrs every time you change any setting. If your limited on cash I’d strongly recommend the Bryton.
Thanks mate, I really don't like taking electronics with me (other than phone) I see pedal time as unplugged from the matrix time. However, it might be wise with some of the off road multi-day trips I have planned for next year. My brother has a Garnin (unsure of the model) does my nut in as its always bloody bleeping!
Been out for a blast on singletrack with my lad on our hardtails, ridden parts of The Chase I’ve not ever ridden before in 30 odd years of riding there.
Took the MTB out today. My gaff to Marlborough and Savernake forest. 37 miles in all. I like Venison, but it is deer
Steady away 20 odd miler on the mtb today, pretty nippy but wall to wall sunshine ..me at front of pic Just up around Osmotherley,..Roseberry topping can be seen in the distance peeking out of the valley. Gods country tha knaas!
