any thoughts on the Bobblbee backpacks?

  1. I am intrigued by them, but I wonder if they are any good in real life

has anyone tried their main motorcycle-oriented versions, the Peoples Delite and the Megalopolis Aero?

    thanks!!

  2. Expensive, small capacity, heavy. Kriega's are superior in every way.

  3. thanks. I haven't tried any of them. going for a daily commute one, would you go for the R25 or R30?

  4. I was thinking of going with the R25 and buying the US-10 drybag, which hopefully can also be attached on the back of my monster?

  5. Ive got a Bobblbee and its good. I would say its not particularly big although it does expand and the straps a re very comfortable with good padding. Ive had it about 6 years and its lasted very well.

The real benefit Ive found is that it doesnt pull you about at speed on the bike. It seems to flow the air over your back so you barely notice it.

I suspect that the Kreiga stuff is better (I've not had Kreiga) but it you want to carry small loads at high speed its good! :upyeah:

  6. Having had both, the R30 every time.

  7. hi MrAli - may I ask which particular model you have?

  8. isn't it too big? I mainly ride about town, and wouldn't want anything too bulky

  9. I'll have to have a look when I get home later. I'll stick a photo up too.

  10. Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you on this. Mine is a Sport model (picture attached). I had a look at their website and I wouldn't say it's worth the money they're charging these days. I think when I got mine it was £60 which is OK for a bag of that size and performance

  11. For pottering about and commuting an R15 is plenty big enough, you don't know it's on your back its so comfortable

  12. I have got the Megalopolis Aero and a Kriega R35 IMG_2094.jpg IMG_2068.jpg

    Bobblbee
pro's: waterproof, back protector level-2, possibility to add several accessories (SIDE WINDERS, HELMET NET, LUMBAR CASSETTE etc) and to be able to customise.
    con's: heavier, limited capacity
    Kriega
    pro's: lighter, comfortable and cheaper
    con's: not waterproof.

Personally I much prefer the Bobblbee, it combines the back protector and it's waterproof, I use the bike almost every day to commute, the space is limited but for my use it's enough ( waterproof overall, waterproof gloves, laptop and few tools).
Anyway the Kriega is for sale if anyone it's interested can pm me.

  13. Not at all: the R30 is short and has a firmer structure to it than the R25 or R35 - ie, it keeps it's shape better when empty. Also, it compresses to a flatter shape if you don't have it filled out. Plus is that it is fully waterproof (unlike the R25 or R35), and it's extremely versatile.
