My 1198SP engine will be available shortly, having now decided to break my 2011 1198SP track bike. Short history of the bike: I bought it as a Cat D salvage in 2013 with 1400 miles, one previous owner. I repaired the bike to it's original road specification, including purchasing a new frame from Ducati (retaining the original chassis number), however I rarely used it on the road, so in 2016 with approximately 5k miles, I converted it for track use, bike has since been meticulously maintained and never dropped. The engine has now completed 8K miles, the standard gearbox was replaced in 2017 with a BSD Performance three dog RS ratio gearbox (super slick and reliable with quick shifter), in July 2020 it was refreshed by BSD after a piston jet came loose and damaged 2 gears, since then it has run faultlessly and completed 3 days at Portimao last October and 4 UK days this year, not used since July it still started first time on the button today. Motul 300v has always been used and changed regularly. The engine will be sold less clutch, throttle bodies, carbon belt covers and GB casing covers pictured. I have plenty of photos of the engine still fitted and videos of it running today. Looking for £3350 or very near offer, would consider delivering for the cost of fuel. I'll be adding all the other parts as the bike is stripped and the parts are inspected and cleaned, including all road parts. Feel free to message me if you need any information on any of the parts.
Sadly no, unfortunately the Cat D tag means it's value is in the parts and it would be nice to recoup a reasonable proportion of the funds I've ploughed into it over the years, unless of course I was made an offer I couldn't refuse
