I can’t imagine Ducati came out with a revised subframe for the PP so I guess it will be the same as the V4/S.
Fucking climate change I absolutely guarantee that's why, climate change was the reason I left my Mrs cup of tea to go cold before remembering to take it up to her this morning, she's really angry at ExxonMobil after that I tell you. And don't get me started on anti vaxxers, those fuckers are the reason I spilt my udon noodles down my top trying to eat in front of the TV Grrrrr
Just wondering where you got the information for the additional valve clearance check at 9000 miles? I was under the impression that the engine is same as the V4S. I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
On the Ducati web site. If you drill down into the full spec, it clearly states a valve clearance check at 9000 miles. Andy
The wheelbase of the PP is listed as 1595mm and the V4S as 1567mm so the PP has the longer wheelbase, possibly for more stability since the rake and trail is also different. I wonder if the 9000 mile valve check for the PP is Ducati assuming it will get some track use. AFAIK the engine is identical to the V4S
I stand corrected it does look to be the case in the configurator from the above view they are slightly narrower and slightly different shape. If that is the case i might look to get some fitted to my V4S as they are a tad too wide and tall for my liking.
With the conventional valve train on the V4 Grantruismo engine the valve check should be cheaper, granted it's across two heads. Easily doable by the competent home mechanic if the, no doubt, salty cost by a Ducati dealer is too still much, There is no Desmo on this engine. Of course you'll still be held to ransom by the need to plug into the mother-ship to reset the indicator on the dash. Should be an anti monopoly ruling against that but I'm sure Ducati would come up with reason why that shouldn't be the case.
Looks like there's a higher seat available for the PP but only in heated, says 15mm above standard which I assume means 860mm + 15mm (875) Just one for the longer legged riders out there
Oh I know there’s no Desmo valvtrain I just used the term ‘Desmo’ as we all know in the Ducati world the ‘Desmo service’ is the big expensive one. Yep, I agree it could be done at home but most won’t. I also dislike the monopolistic tack Ducati have on resetting g service lights and updating software but I’d do the same if I were them. Although I’m surprised the UK/EU haven’t ruled against this type of behaviour, I know it’s illegal in the US nowadays. The comfort seat adds 15mm to the height, FYI, although allegedly it’s not that comfortable. https://www.facebook.com/groups/733079874226651/permalink/958624548338848/
Can't see a standard comfort seat on the configuration thing can you? Seems to only offer the more expensive heated version
I’m assuming the heated version is more comfortable. Possibly wishful thinking. Can’t see Ducati bringing out a bike with a comfortable seat as standard. Imagine that?
Ok, the comfort seat is more comfortable for me on the 1260. It was the same on the 1200, which isn’t too much of a surprise. I didn’t know the subframe played a part in it.
