I've just had the Termignoni system fitted to my 2021 1260S, dealer says they done the upmap, but when turning the bike on it doesn't display 'RACING', is this correct? I'm almost sure it should display 'RACING'. Or has this now changed? Is there a way to check if the upmap has been done?
Hi, no it doesn’t say racing. The ride will feel a lot smoother but the noise will p*ss you off really quickly. Worst mistake I made with my diavel. Amazing looking exhaust, the upmap fixed the feeling but couldn’t live with the noise.
Termis (without baffles) on the Diavel 1260S is definitely excessively loud. I couldn’t ride my bike without earplugs.
Thanks for that. Ride defo feels smoother, but thinking about it must have been done, sure it would have thrown up engime management lights or something as its de-cated now too. I must admit, I don't mind the noise, but tbh I think my Monster 821 with Termis was louder and more annoying than the termi's on the Diavel. I found the stock system just too quite, hated filtering down dual carriage ways with the stock system, too quite. I prefer to be heard before seen lol!
I think it’s an age thing with me lol, must admit hearing all the young noobs on scooters and 125’s with stupidly loud and often horrible sounding exhausts, I find myself wanting something quiet as I don’t want to be lumped in with them. I like a nice sounding exhaust and taking the diavel with the termi through the Liverpool tunnel was amazing, but after an hour or so riding it would grate on me. I ride a 1200 triple RS and that’s a little to quiet, it’s neighbours friendly and I am looking for something with a little more rasp (but euro 5) if possible. the only other issue I had was the race use only, legally you can’t insure and use on public roads, and I tried to declare and every company refused to insure. Companies are always looking for an out, to not pay and I didn’t want to hand them one on a plate.
I really like these sound of the Termi's on this Diavel, baffles in btw. The ones on my Monster 821 could really get annoying at times. For me also I look at them as a safety thing too due to the was some of the car drivers are around here. If they can't see me then can hear me
With the baffles in it’s bearable. Without baffles and your ears begin to bleed without ear plugs in.
Mate if you like them that’s all that matters, it’s a fantastic bike and I am looking for a second for cruising and torn between the diavel x or the rocket 3. Will be testing both in the new year.
