My sympathy. Only thing I found to help was traditional 'Swedish' massage. No painkillers short of morphine helped mine. Except maybe red wine........ If it doesn't clear up quickly get an MRI done (privately) to see if it is 'only' muscular or if there is a slipped/prolapsed disc pressing on the nerve. If the latter get it attended to ASAP. The NHS is hopeless, they'll tell you it's 'just' muscular, you wait for 6 months in agony with no improvement, after a decade they'll do the surgery. You'll say a lot of the pain is still there, and they'll say 'Ah that's because the nerve was compressed for so long.'
Thanks. This is a muscular problem I think. It’s slowly worsened over the last ten days. Self medicating red wine is helping!
I'd also recommend massage from a proper massage therapist. I have regular Lomi-Lomi (Hawaiian) sessions that really sort out all the knots and 'held' stress, etc.
Went to look at another Ugly.. thinking it over. I don't need another motorbike but do most of us* retired old gits need anything apart from an improvement in health? *me, speaking for me.

Bit of a kerfuffle then a medical emergency was declared and the flight was turned round back to Manchester. We then sat on the runway at Manchester waiting for the ambulance to turn up and take the girl off the plane. Seems like she suffered from some sort of severe "tingling" in her face and they were worried she was having a mini stroke. Thankfully she wasn't too bad but they took her off to hospital. After an hour we were back in the air and off to Milan. From Milan I had a 2 hour minibus ride to Borgo Panigale with my mates to meet the Claudio
