  10. Good idea but “ the Grinch that stole Christmas “ lives there,…more than my life’s worth :astonished: !

  11. Poucher, may sound like a silly question but is she your only child. ?
Only reason I ask this is because my brothers mother-in-law couldn’t join them in Oz without a very large donation to the Oz government. Apparently because my brother’s wife wasn’t her only child, and her other daughters lived here and in America at the time she couldn’t emigrate without handing over over 100k, could even have been more.
Needless to say she didn’t go.

  12. Yup, only child and she’s over 10,000 miles away :( Normally we go every year but Covid has thrown a spanner in that, nearly two years since we’ve seen her and we’ve never yet seen grandson number two, so we’ve really struggled this last two years, just feel like we’re stuck in limbo, neither here nor there

It’s getting really difficult to get into Aus these days, I think just applying for a retirement visa will cost us about £6k as a start, no guarantee of being accepted.

  13. You’ve obviously looked into it @Poucher . Just make sure that’s all you have to pay though.
Good luck with getting out there :upyeah:

Good that your power is restored, you need to rig a turbo trainer up to your power supply. ;)
