Was going to pop into Boxhill but only just awoken after unexpected 3 hour sleep (and stiff neck) so will make do with a nice cup of Tea instead.
Put the Christmas lights up out the front of the house, then cooked a roast chicken with all the trimmings for Sunday lunch with the in-laws.
@DucatiScud , I’ll be moving to a more robust Country if things go to plan,…Australia,.. to join my Daughter, son in law and the two little grandsons, the imps! Power is back on now but t’internet is still down since yesterday morning, hence I’m one finger typing this on the iPhone,..only took me 20 minutes
Poucher, may sound like a silly question but is she your only child. ? Only reason I ask this is because my brothers mother-in-law couldn’t join them in Oz without a very large donation to the Oz government. Apparently because my brother’s wife wasn’t her only child, and her other daughters lived here and in America at the time she couldn’t emigrate without handing over over 100k, could even have been more. Needless to say she didn’t go.
Yup, only child and she’s over 10,000 miles away Normally we go every year but Covid has thrown a spanner in that, nearly two years since we’ve seen her and we’ve never yet seen grandson number two, so we’ve really struggled this last two years, just feel like we’re stuck in limbo, neither here nor there It’s getting really difficult to get into Aus these days, I think just applying for a retirement visa will cost us about £6k as a start, no guarantee of being accepted.
You’ve obviously looked into it @Poucher . Just make sure that’s all you have to pay though. Good luck with getting out there
What a splendid opportunity awaits you good luck in your endeavour. Good that your power is restored, you need to rig a turbo trainer up to your power supply.
Came back from Bologna. Had a fantastic trip. Did my 2nd antigen test this evening………all clear of the dreaded lurgy
Got to see the Corse department and R&D department which are normally “out of bounds” to people, so we saw what Claudio wanted to show us.
Just remembered…….we did get to see and feel the final production sample for the new Desert X as well as a few interesting “blue sky thinking” prototypes
