  1. Even more mental when that is the cost of a studio flat in Kensington……

  2. Minimum probably in Kensington o_O

  3. What's even more astonishing is that it looks like you can actually open the drivers door and exit/enter the car once its in the garage of a new build....!

  4. When we moved we had grand plans of extending out/up but now think what the hell’s the point? There’s only the 2 of us, people have this think about “open plan living” with a huge kitchen and island that’ll seat 12 round it flowing through to a lounge/diner with bi-fold door and sky lights, the room becomes so massive it’s like a bloody industrial art gallery so you end up spending most of your time in the old lounge that you have now called a “snug”
We’ve also got a flat that is in danger of becoming a money pit so plan to sell it and pay our mortgage off here with a tidy sum left over that should probably be invested or something similarly sensible but I can’t help looking at toys  (luckily the garage isn’t big enough for a car, could squeeze a few more bikes in there though

  5. Yeah but look at all the tail floating around Kensington. Worth every penny I'd say.

  6. We were casually looking for a new place for 2 or 3 years. The issue was, to get 3 or 4 garage spaces you had to buy a big house. Or add the garage afterwards, which cost £30-40k. The stamp duty holiday made the market go crazy, and we saw houses that had been on the market for over a year, selling in a week, and supply drying up. So we had to jump, and buy a house that is too big for us really. It's nice to drive up to it, but bloody expensive to heat.

  7. We extended as soon as we moved in. We now “live” in the open plan garden room/dining room/kitchen.

We deliberately decided against putting a TV in there so we have to use the lounge if we want to watch it.

  8. LOL, come oop north lads, you buy one you get one free.

  16. It’s probably more complicated and a massive ball ache in reality to do and relays on a lot of its and buts, far easier to set up a foreign company, sell it to them and then buy the company and it’s newly acquired assets, I believe that’s how Tony Blair does it?

  18. Reminds me the new build we bought when I was married the garage was big enough for the car as long as you were skinny enough to get out of the car door
The car lived on the driveway
When the power went the fuse box was in the garage with an eiectric up and over door
