  1. Guys
I was told by the dealer that sold me my bike that the 1260S had braided hoses already.
That they took a day to fit and therefore there was no point fitting racing hoses.
The bike stops but the brakes feel spongy, not the single finger action i'm used to.
    Has anyone fitted aftermarket hoses?
    Is it worth it?
    Was the Dealers advice accurate?
    Help please
(currently selling my brake kit that arrived from italy weeks later http://ebay.us/G0wEXs?cmpnId=5338273189)

  4. Have you set the fork rebound correctly on the right-hand fork head.

  5. Okay, firstly, welcome. Secondly, the OE brake lines are part flexible, braided hose and part metal brake line, similar to your car. Replacing with a full length, braided, flexible hose is not an easy task and you may find, you need to change the routing. A very common issue is bleeding from the m/c to the ABS manifold inlet. On the 1200, changing the banjo to a bleed nipple banjo on the manifold, is a step forward. If it were me, I'd stick with OE and look to improve pads, discs and system bleeding. Andy

  6. I think there would be limited benefit to replace one braided hose with another unless there is something horribly wrong with the original hose.
In my experience - not specific to the 1260
if you want decent brakes replace the fluid and bleed the system perfectly, fit new pads and bed them in well.
If you want the brakes to be the best possible, replace the seals in the master cylinder and the seals and dust seals in the calipers, then new fluid, bleed and new pads.

  7. Thanks andy
