Interesting point you make though Jack. Historically awards have really usually just been given to high-profile sports. There’s been a few exceptions but even at the lower end of the scale-Foggy never picked up the BBC sports personality award did he, never mind being knighted for winning all those world titles? Rea is by all accounts, also a bit of a “challenging” character but no one can deny his total dominance in his sport. It’s just not a sport (& certainly just at WSB level) that anyone apart from us lot actually care about. I don’t mind the honours system personally but I do find it odd that sportsmen are knighted during their time in the sport. Sir Andy Murray’s another one too-immense achievements in the game particularly for a Brit, Dame Sarah Storey? Nothing against these people but it seemed to mean more when it happened much later on in their lives.

I think LH is pretty much sick of the whole racing scene and wouldn’t be surprised if he walked away from it altogether leaving MV to romp away from the rest of the field twenty seconds up the road. I know he’s got a two year contract with Mercedes but I’m sure he could get out of it if he wanted. All this talk of LH retiring must be giving The Liberty media group the jitters as they could be left with a dud. The ball is in LH court , without him the series would be even more dire and he knows it.

There’s already shit loads of rumours. Stacks of lads at McLaren, some of which I know reckon he was banging/getting piped by Adrian Sutil. Not too bothered on his sexual orientation personally. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he is gay.
