Sorry to ask, but I’m hoping some of you may have come across this conundrum. I’m currently looking at fitting rearsets to my 21 V4 but I’m trying to find which have the most vertical and lateral movement, there are 2 reasons for wanting as much movement as possible, a. I’m 6’2 and have already fitted a comfort seat which has given an extra 20mm, so my next option is trying to gain some more distance with the pegs and b. The more adjustment i have the more i can play around to get the most comfortable for my riding style (or lack of it). Anyway enough waffling, any advice greatly appreciated, thank you
The Spiders seem a very popular choice. I've got the DP Rizomas on mine. My V4S is a track focused bike so comfort wasn't really a consideration when I built it up. @Android853sp will shed some light here. He's quite a tall chap like yourself and has a modded V4S too
I'm sure I've shrunk a little from old age but I'm 6'4" and my race boots are an EU47. As MH says, I fitted the Spider WSBK rear sets. Of the ones available at the time (2019) the Spider were IMO, the best engineered and best manufactured. It has something like 2" verticle and horizontal adjustment but I'd need to look at the bike to confirm that. For me, what is unusual is the gear and brake levers don't use the linkages to adjust the position of the toe peg. I bought in before Spider had a UK distributor or a range of choices but I think their current offerings are still highly regarded. Tommy Bridewell uses them on his BSB V4. Andy
Thanks guys, she’s in for her first service and having a dry clutch fitted, damn I’ve missed the rattle. The dealer has shown me a couple of options of the Spider sets already fitted on bikes so i think that is the route i will be going, I’m sure a few track days will be in the offing, once I’ve sorted out a minor DB issue, thanks akrapovic lol Thanks again for the advice
I've just bought the Spider rearsets for our V2 race bike. The fact that Spider spares are available at BSB meetings was a part of the decision from my side which wont be relevant to most of course but also the fact that they look beautifully put together was the other. The box arrived last week and although i havent fitted them to the bike yet the quality and the workmanship is really really nice, exactly what I was hoping for. In terms of footpeg adjustment, there isnt much. Suprisingly little infact. I'll measure up when they're on the big to see where the default peg position is relative to the Lightec I had on the old bike but the adjustment on the Spider is basically four holes set out in a square with about 10mm spacing beotween centres. You can just about see it if you look closely on the their website. I'm hoping the default position will be alright because if it isnt, there isnt much room for manouver.
I’ve spoken to the dealer where i get the bike serviced and they deal with spider so are looking into movement on different versions so hopefully when next service is done i will get some fitted. They look really well made and any extra leg room is better than nothing
Wish they made more adjustable rearsets for the V4! I went with performance technical! Top quality, cheaper than most others and luckily the minor adjustments to footpeg were spot on for me!
I have a set of Spider Rearsets for sale.Mint, came off my V4R. Race shift only.I think all spider Rearsets are without checking.
