The Cyclists/ebikers

  1. well done for staying upright, I know what you mean re: wet concrete, have come off twice the same way, in Richmond and Old Windsor so am wary of just that slightly thicker sheen of mud on smooth concrete.

  2. I've been riding gravel tyres on the (gravel) bike all year - but after a puncture I spotted bits of canvas visible on the rear tyre. I'd spent all my money on my ducati so with no cash to replace it I dug around in a cupboard and found a pair of cyclocross tyres..
They look the absolute dogs bollox on the bike - super fast and racy but no grip on wet tarmac or concrete - great on mud though !

  7. They aren’t from what I read, so really there’ll be no change in peoples driving, cycling and walking until there is a serious or multiple serious accidents.

  8. It does if 50% of the population are aware of the changes and the rest not, I never assume people have seen me nor rely on a law to prevent an injury.

  9. Very nearly got killed this year at pelican crossing as a foreign looking taxi driver went straight through the red light. Spider senses warned me he wasn't going to stop.
No fucking way I'm risking this 1/2 arsed shite!

  10. Thanks for posting N, obviously only my opinion but I won't be "taking advantage" of either of those revisions, I think they are both ludicrous taking everything into consideration.
The "easy" one first - the pedestrian revision:- a car driver interpreting the ruling "literally" could brake quite suddenly and get rear-ended by a following car which might not be able to see the pedestrian scenario literally "round the corner".

the cyclist revision:- it would be good to look at the actual wording, but any ruling that says it's to be applied "in certain circumstances" is immediately not only a grey area, but also one that is prone to being exploited and argued - great for the post-accident lawyers..

  12. Well done. I was meant to meet a mate at 9 this morning. Woke up and couldn't see across the road due to fog so we bailed. Being in spoons at 6 last night then out for a curry may have also influenced my decision.

Thanks doggy, hope you get out later on :) I made it all the way to Richmond and can’t believe it, haven’t had a painkiller yet but I have one ready.

  14. Had a decent week on the peddles last week, managed to get 12 hours in spread over the week.

Out yesterday in the fog, was good riding on the mtb. Yesterdays ride put me over 500 hours on mtb 's for 2021. Small fry for some but i were quite happy with that tally.
