Wheels should be grey on a stock 998. In terms of values……always tough but something like what you are describing seems to be going for anything over 9k-10k minimum in dealers now, possibly more. I’ve got to do an agreed valuation on mine for insurance, trying to figure it out myself
Thank you - seen one with black wheels which is the more interesting one (private sale) but another from a delaer with grey wheels... dilemma....
A credit to you MH and a lovely build that's really well executed. Beautiful bike. Makes me regret selling mine. Congrats.
Thanks buddy, I enjoyed nearly every minute of the job, learned a hell of a lot on the way. Can’t begin to add up how many hours went in but it was worth it.
Unless buying as investment (?!! Never understand that!) go with what you prefer. If you love pink wheels, doesn’t matter Even better if the right wheels but wrong colour. You can alsways get them done if needed when sale time comes
Very jealous would love to own a bike like yours and to find the time - construction in lockdown never stopped for me.
Cheers bud, I had the first couple of months off during lockdown but have never been busier since. Finding the time is the hardest bit. I doubt I’ll ever get the time again to do something like this until I retire. Long way off, unfortunately. I’m on with an old car now, it’ll be an ongoing project forever I think, bikes far easier.
Cheers Bradders, I've a bit of OCD with some things and shy away from bikes that have been 'tinkered' with - so would prefer to buy as original if that makes sense? I don't have time or make time to fiddle, just not my bag. However, I appreciate those who possess the skills that do.
