  1. My son and I had our boosters yesterday and woke feeling a bit achy so was going to bin out the cycle ride.
Eventually came to my senses and said fark it, let's go! Feeling fine now.

  5. A week off the bike for me as on saturday night I "dismounted" a set of stairs and unfortunately didn't stick the landing (the polite way of saying I'd had a few beers, was wearing my good shoes which have very slippery soles and I slipped on the top step of our stairs...)
12 staples in the back of my head later means I can't wear a push bike bike helmet till the staples come out...
oh well - at least there is plenty of food and drink at home to console me...

  6. Crikey, a lucky escape doesn't cover it, the "landing" gets a whole new meaning in this example.

  7. Quickie when the sun popped out.

  8. Managed a few gentle miles whilst in the very, very wet Lake District last week and sooooo so, so un fit.
But new job in the New Year with 'normal' hours, time to shape up once Christmas is done of course. I'll be drinking at the bottom of any stairs bare foot!! Ouch... 20211214_114256.jpg Lakes#2.jpg Lakes#3.jpg Lakes#4.jpg

  9. yeah - the Mrs was very worried as I was lying face up in a pool of blood at the bottom of the stairs - then my eyes opened I got up and said "I'm going to bed" and off I went (back up the stairs) - so she called an ambulance on me

  10. Yeah, it's part of a loop I do regular, bit of old railway for the mud n woods, bridleways for the rough n rocky climbs and canal for a steady ride back. It works well for a20 odd mile spin out

  15. Christmas Day myself and no 2 daughter rode 13 miles as prep for lunch. Today I rode 17 miles with a mate, we were soaked but I did pass my weekly 50 mile target. Tonight I ordered a Garmin Radar rear light to go with the 1030 plus computer. Still waiting to hear news on the Cervelo S5

  16. Tough loop today, settle loop is not long but hell fire, it were tough going today, mud, water, snow and slimy rocks, good ride though...
