Think it's a itch I need to scratch John, just hope the prices don't leave me dead in the water before I get the chance!
I think the prices for Laverda triples are really quite low for what you are getting, but I can’t see the prices going crazy anytime soon. One for the future - I think I’ve picked up a fair understanding of what to look for over the years, so if you ever do get serious about buying a Laverda triple, and find a likely candidate, I would be happy to look at the ad (or the bike itself if reasonably local to me) and speak to the seller and hopefully reduce the chance of you buying a pup. Cheers, Jon
Many thanks Jon, wifes informed me that we are moving next year....so hopefully I secure a place with garage space to fill when fiances recover from initial shock!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-7...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 This has the wrong forks, and wrong front brake discs. I suspect it’s been crashed. If they were honest in the adds fair enough but still think £10k is a bit much for a bitsa bike
Reasonable money for a 916, the seat cover / screen needs changing back to the original factory spec, imo. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1412675
Not for the feint hearted or anyone that doesn’t already have modern rc kit and somewhere to run it. Andy
A lad I knew back in the early 90’s owned a RGS from new and had epic mileage on it using it to come home from Germany on leave from BAR, I seem to recall it close to 100,000 miles with one engine rebuild. It sounded epic I dare say better than the 851 I rode at the time.
The cheapest MHR for sale so far, but read the small print. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1399947
1980 Laverda 1200 1116cc for sale for £7,600 in WELLINGTON, SOMERSET https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-details/202112260812735?advertising-location=at_bikes Really got my heart set on wirewheel 3c when time comes, or maybe jota. This seems good value I think.
Looks in good order for the money from the 3 pictures. Mirage have their fans, but worth mentioning that the 1200 is quite a different bike to ride than the 1000. In this case, bigger isn’t necessarily better. Much softer character, definitely more long-legged tourer than sports bike. And the tank shape is just unfortunate compared to the smaller engined bike (but can be changed for ££)
Bevel Ducatis are priced by Mystic Meg and Russell Grant... they're priceless when I'm buying and worthless when I'm selling.
