Well today i switched the box off for a change and worked on the bike instead which was far more rewarding, the t.v choice is very poor this time of year.
In my top 10, I could watch it now (spoiler) the plot contained a never-revealed mystery right to the end and was I believe, a unique theme for a film at the time.
I agree (spoiler) - watched it to try and decide what the f. direction it was going in, as didn't cotton on that it was a black comedy, confusing, and 20 minutes in (the white house scene) I very nearly called it a day. I think it's because they decided to inject the "wake-up - it's a satirical comedy" bit far too suddenly with the son commenting on the breathing etc, first showing of Meryl Streep even more ridiculous than D. Trump etc etc.
I think she was supposed to represent Trump, or at least any recent generic US president. I saw the film as a parody/pastiche. You had, Social Media Mainstream Media Politics The Elite Sheeple, who were more interested in the latest celeb break up than the end of the world. I enjoyed it...
Williams, Formula ! in the blood, very insightful regarding his wife and daughter with airing their views on screen informs us what sort of chap Frank really was.
