New tyres for my 848 evo stealth

  1. I've still got my 848 before I find a suitable 1198S replacement but then, still might keep it and it needs new tyres.

does anyone recommend any others, other than the standard fit? It's road only not track but would like some nice new reputable rubbers......

    cheers

  4. 848 evo. Road bike but do track days too. Tyres been great sofar, done a few hundred road miles too and work perfect

  5. Could it be an 848 by any chance?

  6. Pirelli Rosso Corsas. I avoid Bt016's as i don't like them.

  7. I have used Mich Supersport on my Fireblade and they are excellent even at obscene lean angles

Good for the road and track

  8. Dunlop Sportsmarts are a great alternative, they last well, are good in dodgy conditions and are grippy enough to run at fast group pace on a trackday

  9. I can highly highly recommend Bridgestone BT003RS I had a set of those on my gsxr1000 warm up very quick, I pushed them hard almost every nice Saturday and sunday through the twisties, as far as grip goes, the best I've ever had. The thing that amazed me about them is they are the only tyre I've ever used that didn't square off around the middle, kept its shape through the life of the tyre and also the front and rear wear down at the same rate (they lasted a tad under 2500 miles on the road) when my 848 is due for new boots, that's what i'm going for again

  10. I've recently had the sportsmarts fitted to my 848, and whilst I've only done just over 1000 miles on them so far got to admit I really like them

  11. I have only just got the 848 but when the supercorsas wear out I suspect I will put on the same I had on the 749 - Michelin Pilot Road 3s. They were fantastic....

I would never ever have Bridgstones again, hated them on the couple of bikes I had them on.....

  12. I've just put BT16 Pro's on my 2013 848 SE as the Super Corsa's wore out (esp the front) after 2500 miles. Initial impression are that they are more stable with a slower turn-in (due to the profile) than the Pirelli's. This is OK but it takes a bit of getting used to although the rears now run to the edge after about 80 miles.

I have noticed the traction control kicking in which it never did with the Super Corsas (DTC on level 4 on the road). This might be as they are new tyres and I'm hoping that this will improve as they get worn in.
