It's not what it once was back in it's day, as architecturally there're some nice design street buildings still left in that district if you look hard enough.....but perhaps your right a grand slam would be the best way forward.
I used to go to Motodd 30-odd years ago. I'd leave the A3 at Chessington and head for Sutton and used to enjoy the ride until Croydon. It was like where the gentility of leafy Surrey finally petered out. I was going to go back for the nostalgia, but Motodd's obviously no longer there and on Google Earth I didn't even recognise the route in, let alone Croydon. It's approaching 42 years since I did my back in, and August was 40 since the 1st time I smashed myself up on a bike. So I don't have too many aches and pains I haven't had effectively all my adult life. And I don't feel any different riding today than I did back then. What makes me feel old is roads and towns changing so much I'm lost in places I used to know like the back of my hand. You can't go home again because they tore it down as soon as you left. I wouldn't go as far as to say in Croydon they paved paradise, but it looks like mostly what they didn't touch was the shithole. I probably have a jaundiced eye, having escaped London nearly 20 years ago sick to death of the traffic and squalor, though NW7 was paradise compared to Croydon in Street View. Upmarket, I suppose. I'll probably talk myself into going there come Spring.
Mrs loves that program only seen glimpses of it, one of her pupils won an inter schools ceramic competition with the prize being a workshop with the main judge. Unfortunately due to the pandemic it didn’t happen and probably never will, to say she’s gutted is an understatement.
Everyone waits with baited breath for the moment he’s going to burst into tears Watched the rest of Around the World in 80 Days, the David Tennant one, not the David Niven one or the Michael Palin one
You didn’t have to wait long! What’s wrong with the man, he’s an emotional wreck in need of help, not parading on a tv show!
Watched Hypnotic on Netflix last night. Was quite a good late night film, but I’m sure many will slate it.
When you've Croydon scumbag people burning down the town back in those riot days, like Reeves corner etc, there's not a lot of hope these days. I don't know about that dealer you've mentioned, but i did enjoy riding upto Mocheck / Clapham back in the day, i bought my first bike leathers from that store.
