Taking the plunge

  1. Went to see an ST3 today in yellow, and quite frankly, I am smitten. Been sold by a dealer with a Ducati trained technician, so will be fully serviced with new belts etc before collection. Fully loaded with colour coded panniers and box - with brake light - Scottoiler and Ducati tank cover and bag. Only minus points are a couple of LCD elements not working on one of the digits on the dash, and the previous owner had a couple of dark green and black pinstripes put on which are lacquered in, but I can live with that.

04 reg, 16k miles for £4k. To me that is a good deal.

Can't wait to pop my Ducati cherry :)

ps. Anyone want to buy a Thundercat?

  4. Not sure about yellow I heard they are slow :)

  5. Nice one mate, well wear. Do a few searches on the LCD issues, there are things that can be done.

  6. You'll all be sorry when we get invaded by aliens, and the only thing to hide in is a giant bowl of custard! :)

  14. NICE... Like it... Welcome to Ducati ownership :)

  15. How accurate are the speedometers on these? Am I really doing 40 in first? :)

  16. My R1 was amazing in first. In fact so was the Gixxer.

  17. speedo is accurate to 10% like most vehicles, I'm thinking of putting a larger rear sprocket on my ST3 because parts of London are 20 mph and it doesn't like it.

  18. It's probably in the +10% / -0% bracket. Yes, it will do 40mph in first...

  19. My ST 2 speedo was way out but under not over read
