My Panigale V4s Carbon

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by dieonthishill, Jan 9, 2022.

  1. Hey everyone! I am coming back from 12 years out of the Ducati game after being hit by a red light runner on my Hypermotard 1100S. But, got the green light and decided to buy a Panigale V4S! At first I was going to buy a V4R but that would have ate up my budget and I really wanted something more unique that I helped create. Anyways, I'm too lazy to do a build thread but here is what I did over the last 6 months. I went mostly matte carbon but added some details in gloss carbon to give it some depth. Really happy with how it turned out. Excuse some of the dirt and finger prints in the pics... Too excited that I finished it to wipe it down fully.

  4. Welcome, that bike looks stunning! Please don't cover it in anymore anodised tat, would spoil the look of it.

  5. Totally agree. The anodized parts are only black and minimal. I do not like the bling look either.

  6. I went FullSix on mine too. My favorite is the monocoque subframe, very nice. I also had to go 3rd time lucky with the fuel tank! The first two sprang leaks! Not good....

  7. What part of the tank did it fail at? I’ve heard a bit about this too and potentially Ethanol being the culprit. I only fill mine up with E free.

  8. I’ve had a trouser moment.

  9. Certainly a statement. Not something I would do personally but I can appreciate the bike and applaud the quality of components (apart from the Ducabike clutch cover of course - they tend to divide opinion in the UK).
Enjoy your bike and ride safe. :upyeah:

  10. If you remove the seat you’ll see a 3” square section grafted in that houses the check valve. That section failed on the second one. The first one failed around the brass fitting fuel line. 3rd one has been good, touch wood :)

Definitely put me off carbon fibre tanks. If there’s a next time I’ll look at aluminium tanks…

  12. Lovely bike, welcome back to Ducati. Assume you've be riding other bikes over the last decade, right?

  13. Lovely bike - thought i would be looking at some mix&mashed with different colours but pleasantly surprised!

Personally would have gone for a dry clutch conversion though instead of the clear clutch but otherwise very nice!
