Extended warranty (third year)

  1. So it could be worse ...

  2. Interestingly I arrived home today to find a letter from Ducati offering me a third year extension on my warranty. Surly they wouldn't be offering it if they weren't going to continue with them?

  3. Letter from Ducat HO.........or from your Dealer?

  4. If you got it from Ducati HQ, pls share with us how and where you registered so that I/we can get onto that database too!

  5. Your Dealer should have registered your personal details and bike details (frame number) with Ducati HO and you should have had a letter some time after buying with your personal Ducati Code (00550***).
With this code you can register on www.Ducati.com to add further info.
The reason for my previous post is that I understood that the Warranty 'offer' letters were sent out by Dealers and not Ducati HO.....mine was.
If your bike is anywhere near 18 months old I would ask your Dealer about the extended Warranty.....now.
Remember Ducati will not issue the extended Warranty for bikes more than 18 months old.

  6. It was the dealer. I've not revived anything from Ducati, should I have ?

  7. I meant 'received'. Blimey - productive toxt ;-)

  8. Right.........all Dealers should be able to produce/print the Ever Red Extended Warranty Certificates via their DCS System. I'm not sure if that's following some authorisation from Ducati HQ or if the Dealer deals with the whole process i.e. application through to acceptance.
My Dealer has just produced my cert and emailed to me as a PDF file attachent.

Here's the extended Warranty application form:

  9. Thats what I got from my dealer Andy, but as you will see it is just the application, they then seemingly put it onto the computer system so that dealers can see you have it. But they do not send confirmation that you actually have it, bit strange that they do not. Is it possible that someones application gets rejected and they are unaware? Its all this kind of thing that I hope Audi can turn around!

  10. if Audi can bring one thing to Ducati it will be aftersales customer care. Ducati seem to work around the premise of "if we get round to it we may do it". Audi in my experience value their repeat sales.
It would be the one aspect of owning a Ducati that would make me consider going to another brand in the future.

If only they didnt make such wonderful bikes though!

  11. I too am concerned that I still don't have confirmation of 3rd year warranty. I paid my £300 in March, (my bike is 2 years old in September) have a signed application form but no more. The application form is not warranty confirmation. I've asked the dealer, Ducati Aylesbury, to provide confirmation but they say they are waiting on Ducati.

I expect there are others in the same situation. Any thoughts guys?

  12. I paid for it in December with mine being 2yrs old in June, haven't signed anything but do have a receipt from the dealer. I'm assuming that there will be some documentation issued when the policy becomes active next Month!

    Perhaps I should check?

  13. See the earlier comments above, Gibbo. Suggest you get back to Ducati Aylesbury soon, get them to check on the computer DCS system what is the expiry date of your warranty (it should be Sept 2013), and print off a certificate for you. If they can't or won't do this, then you have a problem which you need to pursue.

  14. Yes you should, and quickly. See previous messages.

  15. So I've just been informed that the Ducati rep was able to apply the extended Warranty to my bike, despite me being the 2nd owner. I think what helped was the dealer had:

    a. Told me that I could do this when I initially bought the bike

    b. Taken my money for the extended Warranty when they told me the price would probably go up

So I'm happy that I have an additional years cover which will start at the end of the 2 year cover in 2013.

  16. So have you got the document (printout) confirming that your actual extended warranty date is now in the system?

  17. Pleased to hear you got that sorted in the end Chris....any other result wouldn't have been right imho!

  18. Not yet, they just called me yesterday but I will request this when I go in next week.

  19. Just had 2 year service on my bike and also bought extended warranty the same time, so now bike doesn't have to be within 18 months old to take out cover.

  20. Spanner RASH, Which dealer, phone number???
