Has anyone got one of these going spare?

I could get it re-chromed but where’s the fun in that?

  2. Looks like it could be stainless anyway that someone's painted...??

  3. I think it might be that low-grade stainless Keith? so corrodes if you "remind" it to.

  4. Chrome plating would be a tad garish/bright/chavy I reckon (each to their own, etc). Get that stainless wire bent up...

  5. Looks more like rusty flaky, what was once chrome.

What does an original/ good condition one look like?

  7. I stand corrected...

  8. The submerged image on the table reminds me of the scream painting, also that table top pattern's bending my mind on the way they meet at the apex.....and i'd no drinks tonight.

  9. Thanks Chris, completely forgot to check them out.

  10. I’m guessing Ducati back in the 90’s went with chavy!

Although looking more like a shepherd’s hook in this image, it definitely was once chrome plated.
    Now more rust plated!

  12. When i purchased my xl250 the front tubes were covered in rust, a bench grinder with a mop head attachment plus Autosol / tooThbrush is how i fixed the problem in the end, i'll try find some photographs if i can later.

  14. Here we go @Carr01 i've found them, the after and before photographs with NO new chroming added, one leg tube was slightly bent with a local man and his fly press & nylon block fixing the problem for me.
